~ A goal without a plan is just a wish ~ Are you just wishing to feel differently or are you creating a plan to make it happen? This holiday season will look a little different with less social gatherings and events. Although social distancing is more important than every right now, it can lead to feeling isolated which takes a toll on our mental AND physical health. [feeling even more burnt out and tired than usual this year ]... However, staying at home might make it easier to stick to your clean eating plan or avoiding food sensitivities this season. You may even have more time to get in a workout or spend some time outdoors! Why not use a bit of your extra time to focus on your health by setting your future self up for success in 2021? Whatever you do this holiday season, I hope it benefits your present and future self. Stay safe! #goals #newyearresolutions #plans #notimelikethepresent #doitnow #r&r #holidays2020 See more

Postpartum mood changes Birth can trigger a wave of emotions for new moms (and dads!). Some of those feelings can include symptoms of depression and anxiety. But are you experiencing the usual wave of emotions or something more? ... Did you know up to 1/4 of Canadian new moms report feelings of postpartum depression and/or anxiety within the first year with less than half of them choosing to speak with a healthcare provider about how they’re feeling. A recent study showed symptoms of postpartum depression can even last up to 3 years after birth. [Some risk factors in this study included a previous history of mood disorders and/or gestational diabetes] There are natural ways to help manage mood or rule out underlying issues that may be making it worse. Postpartum depression/anxiety are not signs of failure or weakness. Nor should any parent have to deal with them alone. If you have questions or concerns about this, speak with you ND or MD! See more
