This past week I was reminded of what a privilege it is to live a HEALTHY life... Watching people come and go through the Pembroke Regional Hospital doors, old and young, as I decorated to create a bit of Christmas cheer outside and inside, with the gifts from Mother Nature! ... Even as I walked through the halls to get from one Dept. to another, I saw a glow of love everywhere I went... outdoors, indoors,staff, volunteers, patients, caregivers , families, just to name a few! In all the pain of the world, there is a beautiful blanket of love that wants to make things better! I saw it just every where... It warmed my heart to see the people in our Valley and the world in general, have such caring hearts... day after day that I was there, not once did I see anything but love! Thank you to all who make this world a better place to live... God bless my Dad, who would always say.... Paula, if you want to change the world, start with yourself sweetie... if each and everyone of us just did a little more, what a wonderful world it would be ...hmmmm starting with myself... It is in giving that we receive! I hope my work brings joy to even just one beautiful soul!

Many years ago, Lynn and I worked together on he home with furniture and decorating ideas throughout her whole and beautiful home...she sold and moved to another home where she asked me to come and set everything up to make this house her home again! Off to another another adventure she goes and asks me to drive to Gatineau to do the same thing! Having a blast and spending another great day together playing house like little girls! Unfortunately, Lynn touches base once more ...and tells me, with her parents passing she has to get the house on the market ASAP! I stop by giving them also the tips to get the landscaping, exterior of the home, and went through each room giving the best thing to get this home ready to go.... then, once all their renovations were complete, we spent another wonderful day together playing house! It was a pleasure setting up our Niece Paige and he new husband Brad’s wedding on the weekend. They exchanged their vowes at the LaPasse Church on the shores of the beautiful Ottawa River. A beautiful dinner was provided by my neighbour , Katia’s Kitchen, at the Whitewater Inn. The sun shone upon them and love was in the air! Brad has a love for old cars that was instilled in him through his Grandfather who was unable to attend, so it was fun to surprise him with Robert’s 1929 beauty. Picnic basket in the rumble seat, florals in the suit case, and tin cans out back! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Parisien. Sharing some of my photos.

I was asked to stage this home and the Grandfather came to lend a helping hand.... He was my sidekick for the day... such a sweet kind soul and so willing to help. We painted together, moved furniture, hung pictures, used the wheelbarrow to tidy the yard, move dirt, move gravel, move wood, wash mud off all the lower windows, cleaned flower beds, and staged each room.... I was there for seven hours, and during that time this wonderful old gentleman shared many of his stories... with me. The most touching ones were .....that his homestead home that he had lived in since a child had just burnt to the ground and he and his lovely wife had to start all over again.... he was saying how his wife was finally going to get all the old things that were tired due to their age were now going to be all brand new for her... she was so very excited... he was saying that the old roof was soon needing to be replaced, the furnace he kept fixing up and the appliances were super old.... not to mention all the furniture that they had from generations before. They are now just weeks away from moving into a brand new home fully furnished. However one day she was not feeling well and needed to head to the hospital to be checked... with news that she had a week left and within that week she had gone home to be with her Heavenly Father. He shared stories of how lovely of a lady she was and that she definitely would have been with us on this day of staging as she loved making things pretty! At the front door in the garden was a yellow Butterfly ornament in memory of Grandma. Tears fell, and my heart was swollen. As I watched him help so lovingly, I thought..... that it is in giving that we receive indeed! Material things are not what is important in life but the great times creating special memories with our loved ones... as he had shared many of them with me. This family had an a little daughter who went to play with her little friends while we worked.... she arrived back home for dinner with three of her friends and was proudly showing them all through the home and explaining what we changed up... they plopped on the sofa in the living room which was totally revamped.. She looked around and said....Mommy I love our home... and started to cry because she did not want to move, as this Military move was taking them out East. Grandpa is going on a trip for the first time as well as soon as Covid allows him. We all hustled quickly to finish up, as the Realtor made a visit and said ...there was a showing within the hour....the last minute touches were done and show time hit. The Realtor told the couple that the house was showing so nicely, she was upping the value by $20,000.00. They had three showings that evening and SOLD the house for above asking... within that day! I feel so blessed to have a job that I can help others... Loving my job!

I was staging a home and the Realtor arrived before I was finished......she said that the staging is making her re-evaluate the selling price and was going to up the price by thousands of dollars.... Yeah.... love when the home owner ends up will thousands of dollars in their pockets! I left and two showings within minutes from leaving and the offers are coming in.

I STAGED a duplex to the nines In Petawawa.... with Eight offers in the first week and it SOLD for $20,000.00 above asking price. ... The staged homes are going for more!

This is a little Home Made Covid paint project, that made me reflect on how blessed we are to have great health.. The memories of the sweetest soul (Trish Dupis) was on my mind as I worked away on this task! This was her trailer, to move her needs for The Place Next Door which was two businesses ... one gift and decor boutique, presently owned by. Monica Hoffman and then they had a furniture store next door, now owned by Gayle Jacques, Royal LePage.... I have been needing a trailer for a long time, and was super excited when the opportunity was presented to me... Thanks to the help of my daughter-in-law who set up her machine to create the letters. The old 4H motto.... Learn to do by doing, was on my mind... there were trials and tribulations, rubber grinder, headlamp, tape and paint brushes , just to name a few.... (yes, I should have gone to the experts to have it done professionally) BUT with Trish in mind, this was my results... Yes, Home Made but grateful for health... I read a book once that said, when someone should suffer or even pass away far too young, that this is a reminder for us, to look at our lives and be thankful for all of our blessings. So if you see me driving Grandpas truck and pulling my little homemade trailer, remember to be Thankful for all the gifts bestowed upon ourselves! From solid green to my black and white stripes...

Today was another treat for me... I was called last week to go to a home where a now single, retired FARMER, needed a hand to stage his home that was in the family for years... , as I arrived he looked at me and said .... where do we start dear? ... Many many special treasures from many many great years... Everywhere lovely memories... I said... at the front door... And hours later with almost every item touched... We made the cutest little doll house... we had a wonderful day and to hear that it was another one, that SOLD right away! I am sure he will remember our day together, as he shared many lovely stories as we worked our way through the house... He knew nothing about STAGING.... and just followed me around like a puppy... with muscles to move and re arrange furniture and decor that I found tucked away.. When we were done... even in the old basement.... he became HOUSE PROUD. The journey was so rewarding for both of us... He was ready to show this home now and not be embarrassed at all..
