It’s been raining here the last few days (it IS winter season, after all...) which has put a bit of a kink in my daily hiking schedule. But this morning I woke up to sun and blue skies and double digit temperatures... god bless you Vancouver Island I love you so much! Also brought home the lesson that without those dark days in our lives, we wouldn’t likely deeply appreciate the brighter ones. Life isn’t about non-stop positivity.. but rather our ability to appreciate the full spectrum... which leads me to believe that we must really be in for a spectacular ride soon, on the heels of all the BS that’s been 2020.

Out for a hike tdy and came across this super cool formation. At first I thought it might be Lion’s Mane mushroom, or something similar... but after touching it, I discovered it was frost! Mother Nature sure makes some beautiful and curious creations!

I have no words... simply incredible hike today along the ocean in East Sooke Regional Park. Also a super beautiful lake that was mirror-like in its stillness. This province continues to take my breath away every single day. Big shoutout to my friend Brandon for showing me these amazing spots!

Killer hike today up near Goldstream... watched salmon fight their way up stream, and then hoofed it over to the trestle. Crazy high, no railings, felt the fear, did it anyway! Absolutely stunning area!!

Back in Cecilia’s driver’s seat! It feels like a long time since I’ve sat here... longer since I’ve posted on this page! Lots and lots going on, in some ways. In others, I’ve just been settling into my winter home. Still planning to keep my social media consumption on a strict diet, but look for a few more posts and updates than there has been over the last couple of months. Hope you all have been having a fantastic Fall so far!! I’m really looking forward to sharing some of the epic adventures and pics I’ve been experiencing out here on the island. Feels amazing to be where my heart feel most at HOME
