HONORING MOTHER EARTH CHALLENGE We’ve learned through the Covid experience that it’s important to honor our interconnectedness. We slowed down, cared for one another and honored Mother Earth by returning to her for food, water and sustenance. In return, she has given us the gift of life. ... In the attached video a young man known in Anishinaabe as, Waase Aanakwad or William Yerxa in English, shares his knowledge and traditional way of honoring Mother Earth. Through that honoring, he grows to understand his role as a young man in caring for the water, the earth and the people. Ask your children how they care for Mother Earth and post a comment, photo or video in the comment section of how they Honor Mother Earth and be entered into a random draw for a $100 gift card from Walmart! Challenge is open to all children and their families!
