DFL... will provide some contextual information and resources to connect students to on-going initiatives at Queen's, but this event will focus on open discussion of participants' thoughts, ideas, and experiences, to create a forum that encourages critical thought and connection. Join us on Friday, February 26th, at 6pm by following the Zoom link that will be added to th event’s description soon!
Meet Our 2020-2021 Exec Team Hello everyone! My name is Aline and I am a 1st year MSc student I was one of the founders of this club and am currently the grad rep for this academic year. ... I met Dr. Abuelaish when I was in 1st year of my undergrad where I was given the opportunity to discuss with him the foundation’s goals. DFL’s mission of supporting young equity-seeking women encouraged me to start a chapter here at Queen’s. Since then, we’ve been working hard towards this mission with a group of highly enthusiastic, self-driven team-mates. I am very excited to be part of this club again this year. Fun fact about me: I enjoy travelling/exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and meeting people from all around the globe
If you’re interested in learning more about equity, women’s education, initiatives at Queen’s, upcoming equity events, and more..., check out the list of resources we have created! You can access the list by following this link: https://docs.google.com//1XAbnWOQQk1f2tpTzH2v9y6ICtM/edit

Meet Our 2020-2021 Exec Team My name is Élyse, I’m a third-year Politics, Philosophy, and Economics student! I am on the events and fundraising exec this year can’t wait to share what we have coming up:) ... I joined this club because I believe strongly in DFL’s purpose in offering funding for education as a tool for empowerment and meaningful change. I’ve come to know the DFL Queen’s team as a collective of some of the most supportive and understanding group of people who are passionate about the same thing!! Fun fact about me is I played Ultimate Frisbee for Queen’s in the good ol’ pre-covid days (friendly reminder to tell your teammates or friends u love them and give them a virtual hug)!
Meet Our 2020-2021 Exec Team Hi everyone! My name is Maggie. I am a 3rd year SOCY major here at Queen’s. I joined this club last year because I support women’s education and it is one sure way of giving them greater power. Also, it should be a RIGHT to EVERY INDIVIDUAL! ... I am one of the Events&Fund Execs this year and I am very excited to work with everyone in this team, they are the sweetest people I’ve met! I love meditating and reading in my free time. GO TEAM!
Meet Our 2020-2021 Exec Team Hi everyone! My name is Liesel, and I’m a 4th year Art History major, with a minor in World Languages. Fun fact about me: I am a (very amateur) musician I play harp and piano! I’m one of the co-chairs of DFL: Queen’s Chapter this year, and I’m so excited to be supporting the work of this organization! I think that Daughters for Life’s mission of supporting women to be leaders in their community is really admirable. Scholarships are a key way to uplift the voices and actions of people whose talents and perspectives are sorely needed, and might otherwise risk being lost. I am fortunate to have received some support myself (not from DFL), so I’m really happy to work to pay it forward through my involvement here.
