BENEFITS Broad spectrum of pharmacological activities including immunopotentiation, antihistaminic, antidiabetic, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, hepatoprotective and antimicrobial properties. Anti yeast& H. pylori Asthma Anti-Arthritic Memory & attention Anxiolytic Thyroid Dz (hashimoto's) Fatty liver & Cholesterol Indigestion CANCER CARE Thymoquinone (TQ), the main bioactive component has been found to exhibit anticancer effects in numerous preclinical studies. TQ interferes in tumorigenic processes & counteracts carcinogenesis, malignant growth, invasion, migration, & angiogenesis. TQ can sensitize tumor cells toward conventional cancer treatments (radiotherapy, chemotherapy & immunotherapy) & simultaneously minimize therapy-associated toxic effects in normal cells. #naturopath #healthyliving #holistichealth #unani #ayurveda #blackcumin #herba #dhaya

Many of us have come across the term adrenal fatigue but understanding what it truly means involves understanding the various stages that are the lead up to t...his state of exhaustion. Adrenal fatigue helps to describe the hormonal changes that occur because of chronic stress and hectic lifestyles. Initially, your body and your adrenal glands can support you through the stress but if the stress becomes prolonged, the adrenals may not be able to keep up. Adrenal fatigue is a physiological state in which your stress response can no longer bounce back easily. The progression to a state of exhaustion is best described by the General Adaptation System by Hans Seyle. During Stage 1, the Alarm Phase, your adrenal glands sense you are under stress and release epinephrine, adrenaline, and cortisol to help buffer this stressor. Epinephrine and adrenaline can leave us feeling anxious, jittery, on edge and we may notice some changes in our sleep. Progressing to Stage 2, the Resistance Phase, means your adrenal glands continue to secrete cortisol as the stress is still there. You may actually feel good some days in the resistance phase as cortisol helps to give you energy! But you may also have a sense of feeling wired and tired. Cortisol also changes our blood sugar control and can leave us feeling hangry more often. A common symptom in this phase is waking up between 3am-5am, as cortisol is getting released earlier than it should in anticipation of the day’s stress. Stage 3, the Exhaustion Phase occurs when resistance to the stressor can no longer be maintained. Your adrenals call it quits and drastically decrease the amount of cortisol being released. Having low circulating cortisol results in fatigue, muscle aches, frequent colds/flus, exercise intolerance, weight gain, and low libido. Low cortisol output also means a loss of anti-inflammatory control and diseases of adaptation can occur, including allergies, asthma, eczema, Hashimoto’s, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, colitis, chronic rashes. Each stage requires a different treatment focus, so understanding where you are is key to knowing which treatment options are best suited for you.

What the heck is Fibrinogen? Fibrinogen is a pro-inflammatory protein produced in the liver via stimulation of interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-1b. Fibrinogen transformed to fibrin by activated thrombin in the coagulation cascade, which plays an important role in the malignant process of tumor progression and metastasis... Why it’s Important: Recent Studies demonstrate that plasma fibrinogen levels are associated with tumor development in several types of malignancy Both Fibrinogen & Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio (F-NLR) have been known to be associated with tumour progression and metastatic development. Several investigators have demonstrated hyperfibrinogenemia and elevated NLR as a predictor of poor therapeutic response in blood analysis before starting treatment. Findings indicate that fibrinogen and NLR are one of the most promising markers for predicting tumor response to the initial chemoradioatherapy or chemotherapy in patients. hyperfibrinogenemia (>400 mg/dL) and high NLR (>3.0) significantly correlated with a worse prognosis in numerous studies. The Numbers: F-NLR score of 2, having both hyperfibrinogenemia (>400 mg/dL) and high NLR (>3.0), score of 1, one of these hematological abnormalities, and score of 0, having neither hyperfibrinogenemia nor high NLR. Overall survival was significantly lower in patients with an F-NLRscore of 2 than in those with F-NLR score of 0 or 1 F-NLR score of 2 exhibit aggressive tumor behavior due to the resistance to chemoradiotherapy or chemotherapy F-NLR score may be focused on as a promising indicator for considering the therapeutic strategy in patients F-NLR score has clinical potential as a predictive marker for tumor response to chemoradiotherapy or chemotherapy and prognosis See more

Dr. Jo's Truth Bomb Being healthy comes so easy for me and takes no effort at all. said no one ever. We are creatures of habit and most often tend to gravitate towards the easier and convenient options when it comes to exercising, food choices and even the thoughts we foster. ... Looking for a reliable, readily available, and cost-effective biomarker that can play a prognostic role in cancer care?!?! Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) Systematic review and meta-analysis including 100 studies with a total of 40,559 cancer patients demonstrated that a lower NLR improved the following:... Overall survival Cancer-specific survival Progression-free survival Disease-free survival The key is to get NLR below 4!NLR greater than 4 has been associated with statistically poorer survival. NLR is readily available as part of routine oncology lab testing covered by OHIP! (Complete blood counts with differentials) At Dhaya, our Naturopathic Doctor’s use this as a helpful red flag highlighting immune system dysregulation as inflammation is in overdrive leaving a cancer patient at a higher risk of mortality. Naturopathic Interventions can target inflammation, decreasing your NLR, so that the immune system can work towards balanced cancer surveillance! NLR should not replace standard diagnostics suggested by your dedicated oncology team. It can be used as one of many tools to help improve survivorship! Stay tuned for a video from Dr. Bali in the upcoming weeks that will: Demonstrate how to calculate your NLR from your bloodwork The simple science behind the importance of NLR,inflammation and immune function in cancer care. An ancient philosopher once said that the bee extracts honey from the pollen of the flower, while from the same source the spider extracts poison. The problem which then confronts us is: are we bees or spiders? Do we transform the experiences of life into honey, or do we change them into poison? Do they lift us, or do we eternally rebel against the pricks? ... Many people become soured by experience, but the wise one takes the honey and builds it into the beehive of his own spiritual nature.
