Over the last year, sanitizers have become a world-wide essential. Sanitizing reduces the growth of viruses, fungi, and various types of harmful bacteria. Cleaning is important, however, sanitizing and disinfecting are crucial steps to keeping our homes and workplaces safe! As eco-friendly cleaning experts, we wanted to share a few of our sanitizing best practices: Read the label! Every product that claims to kill germs will have instructions on how long a surface must... remain wet to be properly sanitized (this is typically around 30 seconds). Sanitize food areas instead of disinfecting. Even green disinfectants can be harmful to ingest, so stick to sanitizing food areas and utensils regularly, and only use disinfectants every now and then. Clean first, THEN sanitize! Heavily-soiled areas should be visibly clean before applying sanitizer or disinfectant. Here’s an all-natural cleaning hack to add some sparkle to your Saturday evening at home ! Make your microwave spotless with lemon and water! Here’s what you’ll do: slice a lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a microwave-safe bowl. Add 1/2 cup of water and microwave for 3-5 minutes until the water comes to a boil. Keep the door closed for another 5 minutes; the steam will loosen caked-on debris. Wipe the inside of your microwave down with a microfibre or absorbent cl...oth. VOILA!
