The story behind the name. I bought my observatory from a gentleman named Wayne Parker. Mr. Parker is the bassist from the well known Canadian 80's rock band Glass Tiger. One of Glass Tiger's greatest hits is a song titled "Diamond Sun". Astronomers commonly refer to Deep Space Objects as "DSO's". Most observatories have a name, so when I started thinking about what to call mine, I asked Wayne if anyone buying his observatories had named them "DSO - Diamond Sun Observatory". He was quite tickled by the question and replied that, surprisingly, no one had. So this is my tribute to Glass Tiger, and my personal astronomical observatory that abbreviates to a well known astronomical term. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-TdRfY6Jck

Celestial objects far beyond our solar system. Some, like nebulae, are within our Milky Way Galaxy. Others - galaxies - are much farther from home.
