This has been a tough year. Like...the toughest. I find myself reflecting a bit on what’s happened as we near the one year mark for quarantine where I live. I have spent basically 8 of the last 12 months in hard lockdown. It’s been a lot to adjust to mentally and emotionally. I didn’t do a very good job of adjusting TBH. You guys kept me busy and focused on work...which was probably my saving grace for a bunch of the year. I just kind of put my head down and got to maki...ng and shipping kits! However, there was a moment this fall when I had to admit I was in very bad shape. Toronto had just gone into another lockdown after having a pretty ‘restriction-free’ summer. It sent me into an anxiety/depression tailspin I couldn’t pull out of. I am lucky I have a Family Doctor that I love, and she took me seriously when I told what was going on. With medication and therapy, I am slowly starting to feel more myself. This experience has been the most humbling of my life. I couldn’t just get over it, or put on my big girl pants and push through. I have had to learn that it’s okay to struggle. This is a very hard lesson for an A-type control nut like me! I share this only to say that it’s okay if this year was really friggin hard for you, and it brought you to your knees. It was really really hard for me too. You aren’t alone in this
This pattern got stitched three times over before I got it right! I have an entire drawer dedicated to half stitched not quite right versions of patterns that’ll never see the light of day . New work takes time, patience, and a whole@bunch of trial and error to get the details perfect!
A sweet little custom flag banner for a sweet little baby :). Guest appearance from my MOST favourite stuffy as a child. Woof Woof was my constant companion for years. The velvet is rubbed off his nose, he’s stitched up and low on stuffing....but he’s perfect to me . Did you guys have a special stuffy that you carried with you always?
Want a meaty project to sink your teeth in to? ‘Fruit Sampler’ is sooooo satisfying to stitch!
Llama love . Kit available in the Etsy shop!
Sweet little alphabet pins to add some flair to your jacket . I’ve got a few left in stock! Watch my stories today for some super special extra mini hoop supplies I’ve got my hands on!
