It is important to note that we are full of dysfunctions whether we are in pain or not. If we are in pain it is easy to find something wrong relevant to a pre...cise tissue model but which may not be relevant at all to the patients state.Louis Gifford, 2004 In Chapter 5, Rehabilitation of Movement: Theoretical Basis of Clinical Practice from 2004 Thanks to Pain Science in Sports Medicine for a link to the quote.

Can you help? I'm collecting donations for The Ride to Conquer Cancer. I ride for my mum. My mum (pictured here) died of ovarian cancer 10 years ago. Ovarian cancer still does not have a good prognosis. There still isn't testing to catch it early. This week, in honour of World Cancer Day on February 4th, I will add 10% to your donations. I have committed to doing The Ride this year, 250km over 2 days, and raising $2500 for the BC Cancer Agency, in the process. Any amount you can donate will help towards research and urgent care. Thank you! Click on the link to see my ride page. http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR/Ride/Vancouver2018

".... exercise can be used as medicine for even the sickest patients. "People would always say to me, 'Exercise? Come on. Scientifically, you can't come up with a mechanism, so it's a complete waste of time,'" Tarnopolsky says. "But as time goes on, paper after paper after paper shows that the most effective, potent way that we can improve quality of life and duration of life is exercise."

'There is rarely, if ever something that needs fixing, to allow someone to start running again....adaptation takes time (thus no hammering into pain) but people can start doing the meaningful things without us telling them they need biomechanical "fixing" first. '
