Double trouble , double the love. These two characters will keep you entertained for sure. They are full of fun and games . They also love to sleep in your lap or with you in bed. They are 4 months old. Sophia came to us as a wee starving baby. She’s grown into a health girl that is full of skunk and love.... Tazer came to us with siblings that have all been adopted. He bonded with Sophia and now we want to find them a home together. Tazer is a talker and a gentle boy. Their adoption fee is $350 for the pair. They are fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and spay/neutered. All they need now is to find their forever family. They would love children to play with and they like other cats. So many rescues are full So many vets are over loaded with appoitments and cant keep up. So many cats and kittens living on the streets in need of saving. How can you help? Reach out to rescues and offer to foster. ... If you find kittens in your yard, we can loan you traps but we need you to help by fostering for a few weeks. Its hard times right now and we need your help. All rescues rely upon the help of volunteers . With the help of Julie and Claire , helpers of an ottawa reacue, they managed to help trap a family yesterday. The mom appears to be quiet feral and she had 4 kittens. The feral mom is being fostered temporarily. Im grateful for that, not many people can handle a feral cat . And thanks to Marcia, the kittens are being fostered and socialized. They appear to be around 10 weeks of age. Thankfully the home owner reached out once he saw the kittens in the yard. Team work - works. Your donations are why we can help families like this. So many calls every day , people asking for help to save cats and kittens off the streets. Most rescues are full All vets are back logged with clients and their pets in need. How can you help? Foster for rescues -... Or if youve found a cat or kittens, borrow livevtraps from local rescues and foster them until we have room. All you need is either a spare bathroom or bedroom. A room that they can stay in until space is made available. We can provide the food and vetting , if you can help by giving them a place to stay temporarily. Let me know if you can foster. Reality bites; sometimes rescue isnt fun at all. With the emergencies lately of ryder that needed leg amputation, Crash, the cat hit by a car will likely need leg amputation , Toby Rae who has surgery twice to unblock him due toniribary cystitis. And then Trooper , Tucker and Tazer recovering from panleukopenia. ... What a couple of weeks. Tonight I moved Trooper, Tucker and Tazer to my bedroom while I cleared their laundry room kitten room. I had to throw away 4 cat trees, all their blankets and towels, toys, litter boxes , cat house, dishes, area rug and anything else in the room. Now Ive. Completed round one of disinfecting and then leaving a bleach solution on walls , base boards and floor . And then repeat three times to be sure. Then move some items back for their comfort so they can return to the laundry room. Ideally Id move them out of the room and keep them out, but I currently dont have a room to move them into. This process has already taken 3 hrs and will likeky take another 2 hrs to complete. Then Im going to bed. Better days ahead my friends .

Poor cats in need of our help. White Toby Rae was going to be euthanized for urinary blockage and crystals. He is only 3 yrs old . We took him on, unblocked him, cleaned out his bladder, placed on medication . He went to a foster home over the weekend and was doing pretty good until last night. He is struggling to urinate again and seems in pain. He is is going back to the vet as soon as they open this morning. He will remain with them for the week so they can monitor and he...lp him. Crash, the poor cat hit by a car in carleton place, will be arriving at our Almonte vet services as well this morning. Eagleson vet hospital did an amazing job at helping his through his initials care. They provided pain relief and xrays and monitored him over night. Since We use Almonte vet services , hell be transferred and assessed if surgery for repair is his best option or amputation. He seems friendly but may be in pain and shock, not neutered, no microchip, about 2 yrs old. It would be great if we found an owner. UPDATE: Hit and run kitty is now named CRASH Crash got excellent care today at Eagleson Hospital, after his tests, it was concluded that his major injuries are his broken femur. (upper leg). He will need surgery to repair the break, and if that is not going to be possible, then amputation. We will know more tomorrow, what his surgery will be. Poor boy is was in alot of pain, and is now stable with some good pain meds on board. Thank you everyone for pitching in to help u...s save this kitty. They say he is in shock, and is also not microchipped and unneutered. We are not sure if he is someone's lots pet, or a stray cat (feral) , living on the streets. Regardless, he deserves a chance at life and love. A great big hug of thanks for your donations. Second update: Toby Rae had to have emergency surgery to unblock him. Hes was so full of sludgy urine full of debris that they had to flush him thoroughly. Hes resting , sedated and on pain medication and relax meds. Its a horrible thing and very painful for a male to be blocked . Lets hope this will resolve quickly. He will need to stay with the clinic for a few days or more to ensure all is well. Update on the emergency. He is being assessed ... has IV fluids hooked up, cannot pee in his own, Xrays done to see if a kidney stone was missed last surgery, ultra sound fine to show theres a lot of sludge in his bladder that has to be flushed Blood work will be done to find out what his kidney and liver levels are at, And then his surgery to unblock and hospitalization to make sure he is recovering. We will need more than the $1000 I originally said. Poor boy. EMERGENCY : can we help a blocked cat? His name is Toby Rae and hes 3 yrs old. And he is blocked again. He was unblocked on Sunday at the Ottawa Vet Hospital at cost of $3000. But is still blocked today and the owners can not afford to pay another $3000 to unblock again. He had a lot of crystals and thats likely why the second blockage. They had no choice but to euthanize. Very very sweet boy that lives with an elderly lady who will be going into a home and the family cannot care for the cat. The hospital called me to ask if we could give him a chance. Can we? I need your help to help him. I need to raise the funds for his surgery today. He is currently on pain medication on route to our Almonte Vet Hospital . This is critical as cats cannot remain blocked for long, they need immediate surgery. Can we give him a chance? Another vet appoitment this morning. Poor Wallie and Winston have developed upper Respitory infections. Its so hard on their immune system being rescued, then vaccinated, dewormed and sent into foster care. Its a lot of stress on their immune. Reacued adult and 5 kittens from a farm this morning. The farm is over run with cats and kittens and needs help . The lovely female is staying at our vet and getting vaccines es and spay. She will also receive flea prevention, deworming, microchip and SNAP test to ensure shes healthy. If you would like to foster to adopt she needs a place to go, as we are full. She is very friendly sky and rolls on her back for belly rubs and is a great purr machine .... With the foster to adopt program its for people who are considering adopting but want two weeks to a month to ensure the adult would be a good fit. Another emergency today: Two kittens that were living outside, no mom in sight, are currently being treated at the vet this morning. Zena: has a bad ulcerated eye, very cloudy and looks like the pressure is making it swell. I truly hope we do not have to remove the eye. Zora: is a bit on the shy side, but will learn to trust quickly.... And sweet Tucker is still not weight baring on his hind leg after an injury Saturday when he jumped. So he will be seeing the vet this afternoon. And sweet Valor, is still not eating. She was doing fine and then stopped eating shortly after she arrived in the rescue. She was tested Saturday for Panleukopenia, - thankfully negative. She is now on some medications to help with her nausea and tummy troubles. She had sub Q fluids Saturday at the vet as well. She still doesn't want to eat and is losing weight. pray she starts feeling better or we will take her to the vet tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers for all the innocent kitties. Sophia would love to brighten up your life. She lives to be the centre of attention. Shell help you with groceries, rearrange your curtains, dust off your furniture as she slides across, vacc un your floor as she eats the bits youve dropped, chase your around , and climb o to your table at dinner time. She is a character and we just love her attitude. Shes a wild child to be sure. She jumps onto the other cats until she makes sure they will be her friend and play. She lo...ves everyone she meets . She is so full of energy that you have to stop her for her meal times and make sure she eats, and that she does. Shes a very good eater. Adding insult to injury, or the other way around. Poor sweet Tucker just has recovered from a virus and now injured his leg. He jumped off a 1 high bin yesterday and landed wrong. If hes no better Monday, off to the vet for xrays.
