GUT FRIENDLY SOUP . Soup is the best meal when the gut is inflamed, not just because it requires very little digesting, but it is also loaded with so many nutrients that can help reduce inflammation . The basis for most soups is a broth, which can be from simmered chicken or beef bones (*organic, hormone and antibiotic free is best*), lemon slices, onion, garlic cloves, and any veggies you want, just add all ingredients in a slow cooker or stove pot with filtered water and ...cook on medium-low heat for 6+ hours. . The longer the broth cooks, the more protein is extracted from the bones (the building blocks of all muscle tissue!) . Key ingredients for a gut friendly soup chicken or beef bones filtered water carrots, onion, garlic cloves, veggie scraps spinach, potatoes lemon slices, apple cider vinegar, turmeric, ginger root cilantro for antioxidants and fresh flavour . Benefits healthy fats (soothe inflammation) protein (repair muscle tissue damage; the gut and whole body) reduce digestive stress (less food to digest allows digestive organs to rest and repair damage) high concentration of nutrients (improve energy, mood, and recovery) . What are your favourite ingredients for a gut friendly soup? . P.S: I offer customized Digestive Friendly Meal Plans if you are struggling to find safe meals for your gut inflammation See more

How can you tell if your body is sensitive to a food? . There are common symptoms to pay attention to if a food is triggering an allergic/sensitive reaction: Headache after eating... Feel dizzy, cold, trouble thinking or talking Sneeze, cough, have mucous in throat (more than usual) Poor sleep/disrupted sleep Skin reactions (acne on chin or jawline, skin rashes) White coated tongue (oral thrush-candida yeast overgrowth from sugars and imbalanced gut bacteria balance) Diarrhea after eating high fat foods or any food in general Gas, bloating, heart burn, acid reflux, hiccups . If the body is sensitive to certain foods, it will trigger an inflammatory response and alert the immune system to initiate an attack, creating a potential food allergy or intolerance. . If this reaction occurs consistently, overtime the gut tissue becomes inflamed and begins to break down, resulting as small holes in the small bowel that can leak undigested food protein into the bloodstream and a viscious cycle of inflammation can occur. . Think you can be sensitive to certain foods? . Check out my Guide for identifying food allergens: 1 Avoid/remove one food item for 3 days (this food could be foods you notice that upset your gut/create inflammation, or a food that is a common food allergen) 2 Add the food back in (one serving a day) to see how the body responds 3 Keep a food and symptom journal to see if certain foods trigger similar symptoms . Do you notice any symptoms your body shows when you eat certain foods? . P.S: not sure what some common food allergens are? Send me a DM and I'll send you the list! See more
