Michael Frank Goodchild's topic is "Keeping the Dream Alive". He talks about the enormous progress that has been made in achieving the dream of Digital Earth and since then, standards have been adopted in order to make it possible for massive amounts of Earth-observation data to be shared among the research community. Dalhousie Univeristy in the Ocean Sciences department have already undergone a test on one-of-a-kind ocean-based observatory known as the SeaCycler, in the Bedford Basin before embarking a voyage to the Labrador sea.
