Beware of fake scammers who call pretending to be from your local ISP! They attempt to convince you that your computer has viruses, or has been hacked, and they tell you they can fix it if you give them remote access. If they get control of your computer, they simply run a little known program that comes with every version of windows, which allows them to basically put an extra pre-login screen password on your computer. They will hold your computer hostage until you give them your credit card number. In many cases, the only way to remove this password is a complete reinstall of your operating system, and microsoft refuses to provide any way around the issue. Never let anyone have control of your computer unless you know they are who they say, and you trust them!
