In honour of Halloween week, let’s discuss some spooky happenings that have taken place here in OEV in our feature OOOOO...OEV series! Clark Bryan, the executive director of Aeolian, shared stories of unexplainable fire alarms, elevators moving on their own, sonic disruptions, and even visits from mysterious entities In fact, did you know that Aeo...lian Hall is going to be featured in a television series, Paranormal Night Shift, which premieres Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. on T+E, as part of the channel’s Creep Week TV event?? Creep Week starts Saturday and continues until Oct. 18, although the Aeolian Hall episode, the final instalment in the series, won’t be aired until Jan. 9 The series will feature Bryan’s stories and many others. It’s time for another Business of the Week! This week’s shoutout goes out to Homemade Kolache, a new restaurant in Somerville 630! A kolache is a pastry topped with sweet or savoury flavours that restaurant owner Michal Hrncir has been perfecting for many years. In August of this year, Michal moved his operation from Dorinda Street to Somerville 630 in an effort to expand and offer these fluffy, flavourful delights to everyone visiting OEV! According to Michal, kolaches a...re a taste of home that I take a lot of pride in, I use a family recipe that has been passed down from my great aunt, to my mother, and now to me. In the future, Michal said you can expect to see even more menu items as well as programming involving cooking classes for kids. In essence, the impetus behind Homemade Kolache is a life’s dream in which Michal aims to bring happiness to people and share his culture with them.
