IBD Rebrands as Direct Tap Vancouver Island! The time has come to pay tribute to a 32-year brand serving Vancouver Island and its loyal craft beverage supporters. The Island Beverage Distributors (IBD) brand will retire its name and become part of the Direct Tap family to create a fully unified brand providing logistics and specialized services for the craft beverages industry across Vancouver Island and throughout all corners of British Columbia. Vancouver Island, and Vict...oria specifically, is the epicenter of Western Canada’s craft brewing industry and we are proud to be a part of it. As Vancouver Island’s great breweries continue to expand their reach, along with the growing number of awesome wineries, distilleries and cideries, the importance of providing a streamlined and all-inclusive province-wide logistics experience became very apparent. As of April 1, 2018, IBD will no longer exist as a brand or legal entity. In some regards, it is sad to see such an entrenched name in the alcohol beverage distribution service come to an end. We’re sure many will still refer to the Vancouver Island branch of Direct Tap as IBD, which we will always endear. With that said, we are very excited to put that passion and much more (improved processes, IT systems, personnel. and new facility!) to work throughout the Island.
