We have registered Disaster Aid Canada for a Virtual Conference for District 4250 and 4240 "UNIENDO AMÉRICA" ROTARY PROJECT FAIR DISTRICTS 4240 & 4250... NEW DATE: February 18th to 20th, 2021. The main objective of the virtual project fair is to allow Rotary clubs in Districts 4240 & 4250 to share their projects and experiences for the development and implementation of sustainable projects. I believe it would be worthwhile for those interested in submitting or learning more about projects, to have a discussion via Zoom on January 26 at 2:00 pm Pacific Time and 4:00 Central Time. Contact us for the Zoom link if you are interested. This is an opportunity to learn more about what the needs are in Central America and also to present what Disaster Aid Canada & USA has to offer in partnership with Rotary Clubs in Honduras and Guatemala, and in collaboration with Canadian and US Rotary Clubs and non-profits.
For all of those who have suffered from the storms, flooding, famine and violence. For all of those who have had to leave their homes and walk on a trail of tears. For all of those who have suffered from theft of their lands and displacement. For all of those who have disappeared. Please listen to the words of the singer and songwriter Natalia Lafourcade who speaks for her people in this beautiful version of her song Hasta La Raiz (to the Root) https://youtu.be/cUaKBGnn2DQ

Enjoy this presentation about an event that Disaster Aid Canada supported with the Rotary Club of Vista Hermosa in Guatemala working with Setesik. We supported them with a $1,000 grant. This presentation was produced by the Vista Hermosa Club. "Setesik is a High Impact Entrepreneurship from Guatemala, that promotes a sustainable method, by empowering artisan women through a Well Done Work philosophy, improving their economy and dignifying the quality of life of their families through fair trade. The Village of Samac is one of the communities we work with. It was devastated by the flooding. The experience has been very exciting. Even though people's faces were covered by masks, their surprised faces and tears have been moving." https://sway.office.com/3ugztaImzqkqE8ls?ref=email&loc=play

Great Rotarians providing support in Lebanon.
Beirut Update - We have partnered with the Rotary Club of Woodstock-Oxford to provide Aid to the people of Beirut. They have already sent a container of hospital and other supplies. We have provided a donation to go towards ongoing support and rebuilding. The project involves the Rotary club of Beirut Cedars and local Rotaract clubs.
Today we participated in a Zoom call with the team heading up flooding Relief for Melaque Mexico. We sent a financial donation to the Rotary Club of Costalegare for immediate help with the refurbishing of the local schools that were damaged in the Hernan flooding. They are continuing to raise money to replace all of the school supplies and equipment that was lost. If you would like to donate to the project visit: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/53287 and receive a Canadian Tax Receipt.
