Registration for the Discover Georgina Scavenger Hunt is officially CLOSED with a final count of 43 teams taking part on Saturday! Participants - PLEASE MAKE SURE you received an email yesterday at 4pm detailing the next steps to prepare for the hunt. This includes how to join the Facebook group, what you will need for the morning of the hunt, tips, and more. This is VERY important, as if you are not in the Facebook group, you will not be able to participate in the hunt. Th...e email would have only been received by the email that was inputted when signing up. If you cannot see this in your inbox, check your junk mail in case it was misplaced. Today we are celebrating some of the amazing agriculture that takes place in our community! When you support local farmers you are supporting local families and friends! Today we are featuring Hutchings Farm! They are a family run farm with farm gate sales of farm fresh eggs, chicken, lamb, seasonal vegetables, dryer balls and felted soap. Located on Morning Glory Road in Pefferlaw. Hutchings Farm is open year round 7 days a week. Make sure to check Facebook for seasonal hours!

DID YOU KNOW: Stephen Leacock resided on a farm in Egypt - a hamlet in Georgina - for a large portion of his life. He was a famous author and humourist, being considered the greatest English-speaking humourist in the world from 1915 to 1925. Upon his passing, he was buried in the St. George's Anglican Church cemetery, and the Stephen Leacock Theatre was named in his honour.

DID YOU KNOW: Roches Point was named after the family of Mazo de la Roche - a famous author in the 18th century that wrote the Jalna series, which became one of the most popular book series of her time. The family is buried today in the St. George's Anglican Church cemetery in Sibbald Point.
