Schubert Removals: April 21 saw the City's Urban Forestry team take down 56 trees severely affected by Black Knot.... it is heart breaking to see the stumps along DR Blvd. As a good will gesture, the City has offered immediate replacement of all that were removed! The NDHA's Landscape Committee will work with the City on a cost-shared basis for replacements over the coming weeks.

Black Knot of Cherry: You may have noticed last fall and over the winter months, that many of our Schubert Chokecherries on the medians were affected by the Black Knot fungus. This is very prevalent on the West side of Sarcee Trail due to the native chokecherry infestation in surrounding natural areas. Urban Forestry crews will be in Discovery the week of April 21st to prune the worst of the knot out.... removing trees that have more than 50% damage. Please see the link for more info: http://www.calgary.ca//Pest-Managem/Black-knot-fungus.aspx

Street Cleaning: to begin as early as April 21st! ULS crews have been sweeping the grass portions and Roads crews notified the NDHA that they will start cleaning the streets next week. Please watch for signs and remove cars/objects from streets - they wont' be making a second pass through communities this year.
