Discovery Health Care Foundation & Janeway Children’s Foundation Purchase Crib/Stretcher for OBS at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital... A request was made to the Foundation to purchase a crib for OBS at a cost of $9,300. Janeway Children’s Foundation was approached to help with the purchase, they agreed to cover half the cost and we are very grateful for their support. The donations that you make to OBS and the OBS Donor Wall helped to purchase this crib for the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital. We want to thank all of you for supporting our OBS department. Our children are our most precious gifts. This crib has slatted side rails which provide a warm and friendly appearance, and can be completely lowered for 360-degree unobstructed access to the patient. Quiet swing-open access doors allow convenient patient care without disturbing a sleeping child. The access doors have built in safety features to help ensure a child cannot open it from the inside. This crib also has a built-in scale which allows the reading of a patient’s weight. Thank you to all who donated to OBS and helped with this purchase. DISCOVERY HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION would like to thank FEWER'S GROUP STAFF On behalf of the Discovery Health Care Foundation we wish to extend a sincere thank you to a group of caring dedicated employees who are continuing a 50/50 draw at their work, Fewer’s Group, representing: Fewer’s Funeral Home, Fewer’s Ambulance Service, Toyota Central, Eastern Hyundai, Fewer Kia & Random Services Ltd. Half of the bi-weekly draws go to the Foundation towards the purchase of medical equ...ipment for the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, and half to the winner $1,722. was donated from July to November, for an overall total of $66,334. Thank you everyone. FORT POINT LIONS CLUB DONATES $5,000 Discovery Health Care Foundation is very proud to accept a $5,000 donation from Fort Point Lions Club towards the Emergency Room at Bonavista Health Care Center. They were asked to support this project with a $10,000 donation over 4 years and they now have 1/2 of their commitment completed. In these trying times it's very hard to raise money but Fort Point Lions found a way. Thank you to all of your members. ... Phase 1 of the emergency redevelopment involves the relocation of laundry services from Bonavista Hospital to Golden Heights Manor to provide all the space required for the new emergency department. Work is currently ongoing within Golden Heights for the new laundry service with the installation of mechanical and electrical services. For the Bonavista Health Centre, Civil works are well underway outside the hospital and is planned to be completed soon, with the exception of the ambulance canopy. Infection Control contractor has begun work on the interior of the facility and, pending inspection and sign off from Infection Control and Engineering, full demolition scope will begin. I know everybody will be happy with the new emergency department. This work could not be done without the support of the local organizations, businesses and individuals, and Fort Point Lions are very happy to support this.
