The Minka Group has grown to become a leader in the decorative lighting industry. As a company, they take pride in the quality and workmanship of each and every fixture they produce. Which is just one of the reasons why we offer a wide selection of their offerings. Their products retail under the brand names Minka-Lavery, Minka-Metropolitan, and Ambience by Minka-Lavery. Get inspired by their wide range of styles including Traditional, Contemporary, and Transitional. He...re's a bit more information about each style: TRADITIONAL - Traditional designs are classical, warm and calm with roots from the 18th and 19th centuries, rounded edges with ornate detailing present an orderly, often symmetrical look. CONTEMPORARY - Contemporary design is clean, sleek profiles using solid neutral colours and features basic geometric shapes and forms. While modern design favours strong lines, contemporary incorporates curves. By definition, contemporary design incorporates current or styles of today, whereas, the modern design remains true to the modernism movement from the late 19th and early 20th century. TRANSITIONAL - The Transitional look queues from both the contemporary and traditional design. Transitional designs are a more current version of traditional designs with simpler, cleaner, straighter lines. Now that you know more about Traditional, Contemporary and Transitional lighting styles. Which one do you prefer? Not sure, and need some assistance? Wow, how time flies by...thank you for being part of our journey! Distinctive Lighting Concepts began in 1994 as a small lighting business located in Elmwood Kitchens' St. Catharines showroom. From this location we developed relationships with number of valued clients and built a reputation for offering unique lighting options for every budget. In 1996 we joined with several other home design specialists to create the Elmwood Design Centre. As part of this collection of busi...nesses we were able to offer customers the unique ability to shop for all of their residential and commercial design needs in one place. Our move to the Design Centre not only enabled us to carry a much larger number of in-stock lighting fixtures but also allowed us to expand our line of services and products to include a range of home furnishings and accessories. Then 4 years ago in October 2016, we had the opportunity to move to a new location and since then we have not looked back. Our showroom is just a quick hop off the QEW, located at 40 Scott Street West, Unit 1A in St. Catharines, ON. The location may be different today then it was back in 1996, however some things have remained the same. We've always strived to build long lasting relationships with our clients offering unique quality lighting selections at affordable prices while providing superior customer service. For these reasons we take pride in being referred to as Niagara's Finest Lighting Showroom. The past 4 years in our current location has been an exciting time for us and we would love to share all of the new products and lighting styles with you. We hope you can find some time to visit us. We're here to help you choose your style.
