CLEARING CATCH BASINS As the snow melts, operations will shift to preventing localized flooding. Please help to minimize flooding by clearing the catch basins on your street. If you aren’t sure where the catch basins are, use Google Street View:... Go to maps.google.ca. Enter your address in the search engine. Drag the yellow male icon to the street on the map. Look for the square grates on the road in the image. If you witness large amounts of pooling water, please call our Public Works 24-hour line at 604-820-3761 and advise them of the location.

The District recently purchased a 4.7-acre parcel of land on St Anthony Way for wetland conservation and future park purposes using funds from the Parkland Acquisition Reserve. The property is located next to a larger wetland owned by Ducks Unlimited Canada and the District’s purchase will help ensure further protection of the environmental attributes of this area. The remaining acquired space is reserved for park purposes that will be developed at a future time. This invest...ment in parkland and environmental conservation continues Mission’s legacy with this type of land acquisition, said Acting Mayor Cal Crawford. Parks and open spaces are important for a healthy and sustainable community, and the ongoing protection of our wetlands is critical to maintaining this significant natural ecosystem for the benefit of wildlife. The District thanks the Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition and the Stave Valley Salmonid Enhancement Society for their assistance and expertise in identifying the environmental attributes in need of further protection and enhancement. The District also thanks the Donatelli family for their stewardship of the land over many generations. Mission’s Parkland Acquisition Reserve is funded from development for the purpose of securing parkland throughout the District. Read more: http://ow.ly/GxSX50CLc19

Funding for the design and build of the District's very first pump track was approved by Mission Council at Monday night’s Regular Council Meeting. Hard-surface pump tracks are popular for cyclists, scooters, and riders of all ages and skill.
