Spent some time with this sweet old man this morning. Bauer may look familiar as he is my Springer Storms brother! Bauer and Storm are hitting their senior years tough so lots of extra cuddles for my old guy! He is a special boy as I got to be there when he came into this world! Christmas appointments are full... ok there were full weeks ago and I just kept filling in more and more times sleep is for suckers! I will be off the 23rd-29th, I have a few dogs booked for the 3...0th and have some spots for a few more the.my I will be off again until January 4th, back to regular hours at this time. Soooooooooo.... Today ended up being an interesting day I have ended up with 8 stitches in my finger, the doctor told me I am still good to work (gloves to keep it dry and hair free) and I am lucky to have my favourite bather Lexi home to help out. I may get a bit behind some days and may have to keep dogs a bit longer. I appreciate your patience over the next few weeks

It has been a crazy week around here spending my days cuddling with cuties! I have had several messages asking if I am still open, and yes I am! Groomers are able to stay open with the current government restrictions. Hand sanitizer is still available at the bottom of my stairs, the doorbell is cleaned between clients and I will be wearing a mask and ask that you do if you are able. See you soon

November is full! 1st week of December only has a couple of appointments left and the week before Christmas is 90% booked! I decided to work extra hours the 19th and 22nd to add extra appointments. Book soon! With my kids being home I am working all the extra hours and it is still crazy! This is my favourite time of year ... Reminders: Missed Appointments have a 10$ fee due before I will book your next appointment . If you are more then 10 minutes late you will need to be rebooked as it puts the rest of my day behind. If you will be past your pick up time I need to be informed. I may have other plans at the end of the day that I am not able to accommodate late pickups. Etransfers are due at the time of pick up. Please come up and ring the doorbell, I work down stairs so if you come up and knock or just wait at the door I won’t know you are here.

It is hard to believe today is November!!! It definitely snuck up on me this year! Flipping through my appointment book with just over 7 weeks left until Christmas I see I have many full days already! If you are planning a Christmas clean up for your special pup make sure you book early to avoid disappointment! ... The week of the 14th and the 21st & 22nd I will be able to accommodate later appointments as I do not have agility those evenings. My last day of work is the 22nd of December and then I will be closed until December 29th. (Miss Storm always enjoys her place on Santa’s naughty list )

The roads in town are awful, my court looks like a ski hill of drifts the size of moguls.... I am rescheduling anyone booked today for Tuesday or Friday this week. I don’t want to see anyone out that doesn’t have to be or getting stuck!

We had a spot open up in our Monday Level 1 class setting tomorrow from 6-7pm, classes are in Dunmore (922 3rd Ave beside Dunmore dugouts) classes run for 5 weeks and are 100$. Email [email protected] to register

Fall is upon us and beautiful as always My schedule is quickly booking up! I am away October 4th - 7th for a dock diving competition and then off the 9th-13th for Thanksgiving weekend with my family. I also have an agility trial October 16th-19th , so there will be limited appointments available for October and my next Saturday is the 24th of October with one spot remaining.... I will also be off November 6th-15th (working the 9th and 12th to accommodate dogs previously booked those days) The week before Christmas is also filling quickly! Book soon! Miss Ruby was in today for a bath and tidy to get her all ready for agility this weekend! Ruby has her first trial since moving back from the Cayman Islands! I can’t wait to watch Ruby compete again! I have missed this little firecracker at my agility classes! Tomorrow at 3:00 I will be turning off my phone until Tuesday morning to enjoy our Flashing Canines trial! All phone/text and FB messages will be returned the 15th!

Flashing Canines has Level 1 classes starting soon! Agility is so fun to get out and work your dogs mentally and physically!

I am back to Blackfalds today for more Dock Diving with Scarlet, all messages/texts/calls will be returned tomorrow!

Today is day 4 of my 5 days off to send off summer I have an inbox full of messages I will get back tomorrow I wanted to share a little video of something I have always wanted to try and finally took some time for myself to go! I took my Scarlet out to Blackfalds today to try out dock diving! She absolutely loved it and we are heading back Friday to play some more! ... I love the opportunity to do these things with my dogs! Scarlet and I have had some amazing adventures and I look forward to many more!

Happy Dog Day Usually I post a picture of my crazy crew , but this year I decided to something different This is Daisy and she is the the girl I tribute everything in my life too! ... I met Daisy a million years ago, when I lived in Edmonton working at the SPCA. I had gone into the back kennel room and saw this beautiful cocker spaniel baby in the back corner of her kennel shaking (I was born and raised with Springers and my uncle and a family friend had cockers we babysit while I was growing up, so I am huge spaniel suck!) so obviously I climbed into the kennel to cuddle. A little while later the vet at the spca came in and got fairly upset with me, there was a large red stop sign on her kennel (I didn’t notice ) she had bitten the vet during her intake exam that day. Daisy was in rough shape from abuse she endured at her home, damage to her nose, broken ribs and badly bruised hips. I spent two wonderful weeks with her at the spca and one night I got a call from the vet that she was to be euthanized in the morning as she was deemed unadoptable. Well, off I went to pick up Miss Daisy, James was less then impressed when he came home to a puppy I promised I was going to work with her, get her trained and confident and find her a perfect home,,,, well, it turned out my home was her perfect home! I became a groomer because of Daisy, I couldn’t imagine taking her anywhere with how scared she was, so off I went to learn to groom, and found my career I started agility because of her as well! She needed something fun to do! She started running with my brother and soon I kinda stole her I have met all the amazing friends I have through agility because of her and found my passion in life. I am who I am today because of this amazing little dog, she taught me so much about patience and love we said good bye to her 11 years ago this month, and I still miss this wiggly little bum everyday.

UPDATE for Covid Policies Sorry for the long over due update! When you come please come up to the door and ring the doorbell (please don’t knock as I won’t hear you in the basement and the doorbell rings to my phone) ... Then : 1) please step back to allow distance between you and myself when I answer the door OR 2) I have the xpen still set up on my deck and you can please your dog in there and I can collect them from there. Everything is still sprayed outside in between clients and there is hand sanitizer available at the bottom of the stairs. (inside, as it always has been, everything is cleaned between dogs) If you would prefer curb side pick up please text me when you get here at 403-928-8248 and I can come out to collect your pups from your vehicle. Please do what works best for YOUR comfort level, if I come to the door before you ring and would like to place your dog in the pen please let me know and I will back up for you. From now on I will be doing pick up and drop off with a mask on, with some dogs coming in carried in their owners arms, I am not able to maintain 6ft distance. We are all in this together and I want to ensure I can maintain the individual comfort levels for my clients we are extremely blessed to be in a city with limited cases and I home we can keep with that! I will continue to accept cash, cheque, e-transfer and tap. I look forward to seeing you soon!

September -December Schedule! Weekends until the end of the year: September ... 5 19 October 3 24 November 7 21 December 5 12 19 My kids will be staying home for the time being, so my weekly schedule will not be as cut back as I thought, my hours will change a bit to allow breaks in the day to ensure the girls are staying caught up on their work. I will continue to not work Friday’s, this will give me a chance to spend the day working on school with Lexi and Bella before going into the weekend. And I know it is the last thing anyone wants to think about (except me ) but I am already booking December appointments, so if you are wanting a specific date always best to book soon to avoid disappointment! My last day before Christmas will be December 22nd.

Hello Everyone :) I got a new phone over the weekend (same number) but have a little bit of an issue.... I switched carriers and of course my voicemails didn’t transfer over (which I didn’t think of) ..... so..... if you called between Thursday at 4:00 and Sunday at 2:00 and left I message I unfortunately did not get it, and I apologize, please give me a call back or shoot me off a message!

No Show Appointments: Unfortunately after 8 no show appointments in the last two weeks after, 11 years grooming in my home I am going to have to implement a no show policy. Any appointments that are missed will be subject to a 10$ fee that needs to be paid by etransfer before a new appointment will be booked. ... I am booking 2-3 weeks out right now and a missed appointment wastes a time that someone else would have taken and puts me booking further ahead to make up that missed appointment. I do understand things come up, I never have an issue with a last minute cancellation, then I am not sitting around waiting to see if someone will show up. Thank you for understanding, Michelle

This past weekend was my first weekend back to an agility trial in a very long time! I think I have finally got myself caught up on all my calls/texts and messages. Thank you for your patience! I have some upcoming time off planned: ... July 30- August 3 August 13-16 August 27-Sept 1 I will not be returning any phone /text or Facebook messages during these times. I have a couple appointments left the 11th and 12th (I am fully booked before that) August is booking up quickly! And once the kids are back to school my days will be much shorter then they have been so I suspect I will be continuing to book 2-3 weeks in advance for some time. That last 4 months have been crazy! My schedule usually doesn't allow for new clients but with the halt in regular life, I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet so many wonderful new people and pups! I spent my weekend getting my schedule ready for the end of 2020, and as I have a look forward with fingers crossed of a normal school routine, and kids activities I have had to make the decision to stop accepting new clients for the foreseeable future. I have worked doubl...e and triple time over the last four months because I have wonderful kids that are able to care for themselves, but once life resumes my Mom Mode needs to be back This does not include current or past clients getting new dogs I will be able to accommodate them! Re: Messages I do not reply to messages while I am working. The dog on my table is my first priority and I don't want to be distracted by my phone and won't be more then an arms length away while I work. I do not reply to messages outside of business hours as I am taking time with my family and dogs. I am always off on Fridays and Sundays and return messages in the order they are recieved. I am officially on holidays until July 5th! Sweet little Moose (what a great name!) was in today for his first groom It is always best to start puppies early to make grooming the best experience for them! Moose was a rockstar today! His owners are doing an amazing job working with his face and feet and nothing scares this little guy! ... Is it just me, or did March, April and May drag on forever and all of a sudden June is flying by already ???? You will notice some changes when you come. I am asking that when you come please come in through the gate (pull up on the gate and push in towards the door, come in and ring the doorbell, leave your dog on the inside of the gate and then step back behind the gate when I come to the door so we can maintain our 6ft distancing. I am on holidays June 26th to July 7th , so June appointments are filling quickly!

With the arrival of my face shields I will be resuming walk in services (nail trims, glands, quick face/feet trims). But they must be booked following the guildines I will be setting out. These must be booked for the beginning of my day or end of the day. I will be wearing a face shield, grooming smock will be changed between dogs and before I start my day of work, my clothes will be changed if at the beginning of my day before I start the day of work with bathed dogs. My ha...nds are washed between (which they are anyways) I am going to set up a table for on my deck in hopes I can do most of these these services outside, but some will require me to take your pup into my grooming room, I will have you wait outside of the gate and I will bring them out to you as soon as I am done :) and same sanitizing procedure as between all of my clients! I am planning a bit of time off in June and July so if you are looking to book please plan ahead! See you soon!

As some restrictions in the provinces are planning to relaunch and loosen, , I will not be changing any of my protocols for the foreseen future. I am doing everything I can to keep you and my family safe and maintain Government protcols so I can continue to do what I love I understand the deck gate can be tight for some large dogs and we can make arrangements to use my backyard, setting up an xpen and the same cleaning of my gate and area between customers.it is nice havin...g a lot of space to use! Please let me know if your dog needs these accommodations. I have new masks on order and I am in back and fourth discussions with GOA biz connect to set up a safe situation for everyone to do walk in nail trims again. I hope to have it finalized soon! I can not thank everyone enough for being so amazing during this time. I know it isn't easy and I am blessed to have the best clientele. I will still accept cash (there is a silver bucket set up on my deck) but etransfer ([email protected] or 4039288248) and tap are available for use. I hope to see everyone soon give all your critters a kiss from me.

I am thankful for all my little "EA's" that help for homeschool! Today Miss Tia got to learn about about Mrs.Frisby and the Rats of NIHM if anyone has pups that are good at math we are need of a math EA Wednesdays turns out I don't remember how to use a protractor!!
