Thanks to the #slaightfamilyfoundation the @dixonhallmusicschool has been able to provide weekly produce boxes to over 20 families through @foodshareto since last August. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Foodshare has been helping hundreds of families gain access to food through their Emergency Food Relief Response. 'We are very grateful and thankful for FoodShareTO for the weekly fresh fruits and vegetables. This service has been very helpful during these rolling lockdow...ns for food security (as I've only been able to work for 6 months from March 17, 2020 to date) and avoiding long lines outside the grocery stores. The variety of vegetables has been the highlight of the program as there are many different types that we normally otherwise wouldn't purchase, like: onion sprouts, rutabaga, dandelion greens, leeks, etc., which have been nice to try...Sincerely, N.L. & G.D.' To celebrate the beauty of the winter season, our Adult Day Program members painted a winter scene, including snow-covered trees with a sprinkling of snow (with the use of a toothbrush!). Using a home-delivered artist package, members learned different techniques of blending colours, as well as using different types of paintbrushes. We loved creating a winter wonderland together! #seniorsservices

A sincere Thank You to @scarboroughsaicentre who donated over 130 new sleeping bags, along with some tarps, blankets and comforters last week, for those experiencing homelessness in our community. Huge thank you to the Aberdeen Sandwich Group who prepared a festive dinner for our Tuesday Dinner Program this week. Through generous donations from @rowefarms, @blackbirdbakingco and additional fundraising efforts in the community, the Aberdeen Sandwich Group was able to prepare and serve 80 festive meals to those in need. Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and made this event possible this holiday season!
