SCAM ALERT! ACTIVE IN THIS AREA NOW. They call making it sound like a government supported energy savings initiative and talk about possible rebates. Or they... may lead with "Did you get your rebate?" They may also mention Enbridge. DO NOT agree to have them send someone to your home to do "an energy assessment". COMPANY NAME IS ONTARIO GREEN SAVINGS. HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM! Unfortunately, I GOT TOTALLY TAKEN IN and signed a contract for a tankless hot water heater at $74.99 per month plus HST for 10 years! If you stop to do the math (which I didn't), this is a ridiculous amount of money for a hot water heater. WORSE, I discovered that THEY INCREASE THE FEE BY 3.5% ANNUALLY, which means that, after ten years, I will have paid $12,229.00. BUT THE WORST PART IS, THEY PUT A LIEN ON MY HOUSE FOR THAT AMOUNT WHICH MEANS I CAN'T PROCEED WITH MY MORTGAGE RENEWAL/REFINANCING UNLESS I PAY IT OFF AND I AM PRESENTLY STUCK IN A SHORT TERM MORTGAGE AT TWO AND A HALF TIMES THE INTEREST RATE I SHOULD BE PAYING. I called the company to get a buy out and they want $8,800.00! How did this happen? I really don't know other than to say that, once they are in your house, THEY ARE VERY SKILLED AT MANIPULATING AND MISDIRECTING and that I temporarily lost my mind. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency and, if necessary, will hire a lawyer. PLEASE SHARE. I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GET CONNED BY THESE SHYSTERS. See more
