It's been a tremendous past couple of weeks for New Music and just in time for many of us DJs who have been getting back to work on smaller, socially distanced Weddings and other events. The new song "Happy Anywhere" from Blake Shelton with just a hint of Gwen Stefani on the track seems to sum up the mood and is a popular Wedding request already. Also leading the play-listing week are new songs from The Rolling Stones, Kygo, Juice WRLD, Maroon 5, J Cole and this one from Jason Derulo, "Take You Dancing" at socially distanced 2 meters. Just as he did with "Higher Love" I love the way Kygo restructured Tina's song "What's love got to do with it" for 2020. It's also very cool that Kygo considers his fellow DJs leaving a perfect 8 bars for the outro.

Although this demonstration is well done for beginners and it's good practice, he forgets to mention that the $150 controller will look ridiculous as your work-station and you'll have a hard time attracting talent buyers with essentially "a toy" as your controller/top. Juicy M wouldn't be caught dead using a little DJ toy at a gig. Get advice from the Pros here at Steel Productions.

Spending the weekend converting the DJ School studio space and Sarah's Photo Studio into a K1 learning centre for my son Christopher, he'll be taking his backpack and lunch to school just like it's a normal day, Zoom sessions twice a week with his real teacher, real-time activities, assignments, music and much more. I'm still a little sad that my DJ School is on hold, but I think this scenario is more important for little C's well being and happiness, plus it's a great use of the spaces we already have. Perhaps I'll get an apple out of the deal.
