Mike T.V. Part One: There was a time when I was very angry at the world, mostly George W. Bush for starting an illegal war and killing millions of people in Iraq as revenge for 911 or to expand the empire and take control of oil production. This mix was recorded in 2004. I wanted to create a podcast that was both entertaining and educational. Disinforming edutainment is what I called it and Mike T.V. was born. This is part one. It has everything that you don't talk about at the dinner table. Low brow comedy, politics, religion and sex. ...oh... and also Hip Hop because the culture is political or at least it used to be. Back in 2006, I won a third turntable as a door prize at a DJ conference. I hooked up that turntable with my other two turntables using a second daisy chained m...ixer in order to create this set. This, all vinyl, was recorded live at The Blue Moon Bar at 725 Queen Street East in Riverside Toronto right near the Opera House sometime that winter. This set really taught me the subtle art of beat matching on vinyl and how to dance with the platters pushing and dragging in order to make three records play on the same beat. Enjoy! See more
