Dont ever question your good nail artists about why She/He charge what they charge . Here are the few break down for you guys To be able to do nails : 1. Beauty school : $3000- $22k 2.Nail Drill: $300( at least for a good one, usually last 2 years ) 3. Acrylic brush : $45 ( usually we need new one every other month)... 4. monomer : $155-285/a gallon( the EMA liquid that healthy for you) 5. Acrylic powder : $15/color . You need at least 50 colors to start ( I have at least over thousand over the years) 6. gel polishes : $8-15/ bottle . You need at least 50 color to start 7. Nail desk : $250 - $800 8. Nail files, buffer , tips, form : at least 50 of each to start and approximately cost $200 ( we need to buy all of this every month) 9: nail art such as glitter, sticker, decal , foils, ...etc approximately cost $300 to start ( and continue to spend on monthly) 10: cheap rhinestone cost around $100 to start 11: Swarovski crystal : $500-600$ to start Personally over the years , there are couple time I spend 5k to buy swarovski crystals and still spending at least couple hundred dollars a month 12: station rent , booth rental or salon renting cost depend on the techs . 13: all the other expenses are pretty insane On top of all of this we still continue education everyday every year for your nail game . So if you nail artist charging you more than 100$ a set and putting 1.5-3/hour on you . Tip them. Appreciate them. 3 hours of minimum wage is 45$ ( working in retails) We dont get benefits, we dont have sick paid, we dont have holiday paid. We work weekends , we work odd hours . This is all for the love of nails !!!! When the corona virus hit !!! Remember you were just wishing you could just get your nails done and willing to pay whatever . And some of you even tried to do it at home. Spend hundreds of dollars on unprofessional products and struggle . All I said is if you find a good nail artist who goes out of their way to do your nails and take pride in their work appreciate them, tips them and treasure them . Happy Sunday everyone To all my fellas nail artist out there: I understand your struggle, just remember you will get there. Charge what you worth, take pride in your job, continue education . Better yourself everyday . Im with you See more
