Hello everyone, Just an update from my last post. We now know a little bit more on our opening date. As of Monday, Feb 16, is the new date, but it’s not a confirmed date to non essential business opening. The Ford government will revisit on Feb 16th so see which area is allow to open and which are not depending on the cases in the area. I’m hopeful that Feb 16, is the answer, however there is a confirmed African varian case in Northbay and our hospital here also have some c...onfirmed cases. Let’s keep our faith up for Feb 16! We will update our post and start taking appointments as soon as we know for sure. Thank you everyone for your support!

Does anyone know any government link that outlined when business in Ontario will be able to open again? There are mix messages about the 9th, 10th, 11th and even the 19th. What’s the real date? I need to know when to wake up and go to work here? :) :) :)

As per Ontario shut down order for Northern Ontario, we are expected to be reopened Feb 11, unless further restrictions impose again in the next coming weeks, WE WILL NOT TAKE ANY APPOINTMENTS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Please stay tune!!! Crossing our fingers!!:)

Dear Deluxe Nails clients!! Unfortunately, we are ordered to close for another two weeks. This Covid shut down is continued to be a burden on all of us, please know that I am thinking of you and I can’t wait to be reopen again. I understand the need to remove some of acrylic nails for the next two weeks, so here is my tips for removing them safely until we open again! ... 1. Trim your acrylic nails. You need a large nail files. Use the nail files to roughen the surface of the nails. (Make the surface of the nails with or without colour as dull as you can) 2. Separate 10 small pieces of cotton into a small container. Soak those cotton pieces in acetone. (Make sure you have lots of acetone) 3. Place the soaked cotton onto each finger (on top of the acrylic nails) and wrap with aluminum foil tightly so it doesn’t fall off. Go about your daily chores and come back to it about 10-15 minutes later. 4. Use a nails file to scrape off the gluely soft surface of the nails. You need to redo this procedure 4 to 5 times in order to get all of it off. Apply cuticle oil to your nails everything is off. If you need large file and don’t have one or cannot find it at the store, starting this Saturday, I will place a large box outside of Deluxe nails south end store with large nail files. Drop by Deluxe nails South end store to pick up a large nail file FREE OF CHARGE. (Please just take 1 nail file only.)

As much as 2020 had been a challenged for all of us, I must admit that 2020 brought a new meaning way of living!! As we continue to struggle to stay a float-having to pay 3-5 times more for all supplies and many other struggles, we continued to be a strong believer in taking all necessary precautions to keep our clients safe, keeping us safe, keeping our family safe and finally keeping the community safe. This has always been our #1 priority! I love this town, and I am heart broken to hear someone would have the heart to spread such devastating false rumors like this! Happy news!!!! WE ARE OPENING OUR DOORS ON FRIDAY!!! Due to the safety of our staffs and clients, we are only accepting appointments! We will extend our opening hours from 8:00am to last appointment at 8:00pm from Mon-Sat, Sunday at 9:00 to 6:00pm. ... To protect and prevent the spread of COVID19, we have install guards in between staffs and clients and between clients. On top of our regular disinfecting protocols, we also will be sanitized all table/seat/doors after each clients thoroughly. Our staffs are ready to make sure you have a safe, happy visit. While we are working hard to provide for our clients, we have implements some rules: 1. We required all guests to wear a face mask. Please bring your own mask prior to your appointment. We will provide mask if needed, however our mask is Canadian hand made . Retail mask is available for purchase. 2. We required that clients wash and sanitized hands prior to service 3. We required you to sign in. 4. If you have cough, fever and sore throat, please do not visit your appointment. Please get tested and we will make sure to fit you in for an appointment at the appropriate time. 5. I must admit that although it has been hard isolating at home, I am thankful to those that has been working hard to keep our community safe. Isolation has given me time to reflect on personal growth and time spent with my precious children. ... Then there are times, I worried about the future of our line of business if this closure continued. The future is going to be very dark and very tough. I hope that once we get to open again, we will continue to have your support and your love. How to best maintain your Nails during COVID19 During this Pandemic crisis, most of us are frustrated, anxious, bored and most likely will bite on nails!! PLEASE DONT!! If you have powder on your nails, please dont bite or try to peel it off yourself because it might snap and it will hurt a lot. Here is a list of suggestion from us of what to do to best maintain your nails until we open again. ... 1. ACRYLIC NAILS If you have powder on your nails with gel colour on top. By now, your cuticle growth must be tremendous! Do not bite your nails or try to cut them yourself if you have never done that before. If you dont cut it properly, you might cracked it and youre in a much worse situation than before. So the best way is to use a large file, file back the nails to the length that you desired. Use regular nail polish to pain over the gel colour if you want to make it fresh looking. Please use colour thats darker than the colour you currently have and best is to apply just one coat of colour and a top coat to shine. 2. GEL COLOUR/SHELLAC NAILS If you have shellac on your nails. Best is not to peel it off, but rather use a nail file or a buffer, buff the shine off. Add acetone onto a pc of cotton and apply it on top of the gel colour. Use aluminium foil paper to wrap the nails. Wait for about 10-15 mins and then use the nail files to scrap off the gel colour one finger at a time. Rewrap if needed. 3. DIP POWDER NAILS If you have dip powder on. Again best is to file back the nails to the length desire. Use regular nail polish to pain over the colour if you want to keep it fresh. Colour must be darker than the colour you currently have. Dip powder will melt with acetone, so be careful if you want to use acetone to remove regular polish and reapply a new colour. To take off dip power. Do the same way as taking off shellac. However, instead of soaking for 10-15 minutes, you need to wait a lot longer. Do not scrap off the powder, instead, just use the cotton to rub it back and forth until the powder is off. Rewrap if needed. NOW, if you need to VENT your frustration after following my instructions, call me -Lana
