Here are some tips to avoid the consequences of Tech or Text Neck: MAKE SURE YOUR SCREEN IS EYE-LEVEL. This means you should not be looking down or up at your phone/tablet/computer; you should be looking straight ahead. TAKE BREAKS! Every 20-30 minutes you should be looking up from your screen.... STRETCH before, during and after screen time. PAY ATTENTION to your posture, and keep it in check. Look up from your screen, squeeze your shoulder blades together, turn your palms out to face forward and take a deep breath in and out. This will reset your posture and give your neck joints and muscles a well-deserved break! #wellnesswednesday #healthtips #healthtipoftheday #healthylifestyle #wednesdaywisdom #wednesdaymotivation #antiinflammatory #stretching #neckpain #neckpainrelief #techneck #textneck #textnecksyndrome #textneckprevention #allnaturalproducts #allnaturalsupplements #amazonfinds #doctorsorders #_doctords_

If you are reading this post, chances are you are putting stress on your neck muscles and joints! Whether you are looking at your phone or computer screen, proper posture is often disregarded. Your neck is likely sustained in a forward flexed (bent) position. ... Your head is quite heavy; the further away it is from the lowest part of your neck (ie. The further bent forward it is) and the longer it is in that position, the more work it is for your neck muscles and joints to hold it up. The consequences of maintaining this improper posture include: muscle strain/fatigue disc injury pinched nerves possibly even degenerative changes Look out for tomorrow's post as we will provide some valuable tips on how to prevent "Text/Tech Neck"! #inflammationrelief #inflammation #antiinflammatory #healthylifestyle #healthtips #textneck #textnecksyndrome #neckpain #neckpainrelief #allnaturalproducts #amazonfinds #amazondeals #momsofinstagram #_doctords_

Why do children have pain? Thankfully, the most common type of pain in children is benign (or not dangerous). This pain is commonly referred to as Growing Pains. Unlike the name seems to imply, the pain experienced is not caused by bone growth; the cause is mostly unknown. The most likely reason is muscle pain due to overuse (such as running and playing other physical activities). The most common areas for Growing Pains are the shins, calves, back of the knees and front o...f the thighs. Classic characteristics of Growing Pains: - an aching or throbbing pain - occurs on both sides of the body - occurs in children between the ages of 2 and 12 - usually start in the late afternoon and are gone by morning - the pain may wake the child up at night *It is important to note that this is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning it is diagnosed after other conditions have been ruled out. * Always lookout for these other symptoms/signs below in your child as it could mean something more than Growing Pains and should be looked at by a doctor: - pain caused by injury - the pain is only on one side of their body - the pain is in the joints and/or the joints are red or swollen - the pain happens often and/or interferes with normal activities - pain lasts into the morning - pain which is accompanied by fever, limping, rash, weakness, fatigue, loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss As many of you know, Super 7 is a natural product that is safe for children. Super 7 is a pain reliever that can help with the classic growing pains. Click on our bio link to learn more about our natural solutions. You can also DM us if you have any questions. We love what we do but what we can do for our community means a lot more to us. Many of us are so blessed to be healthy and living pain-free. Many children are suffering across Canada and our mission is to support them as much as we can. One organization that we are very passionate about is Million Dollar Smiles. Founded by Anna Lopes in 2006, MDS leads a number of volunteer-run fundraising initiatives created to bring a little light into the lives of families facing the ever...yday challenges that arise when a child is diagnosed with a serious illness. This is done through an annual Teddy Bear Drive around the holidays, as well as Summer Playground Builds. For the past several years, Dr. D’s has supported the Summer Playground Build whereby he and his team build a playground in the backyard of a child whose immune system is compromised and therefore cannot play on public playgrounds due to the risk of infection. The brave little boy or girl come home to a wonderful surpriseand the smile on their face is definitely worth a million dollars! If you share the same passion as we do and would like to support this awesome cause please check out their website for more details. www.milliondollarsmiles.ca What organizations are you passionate about? Do you know how Rheumatoid Arthritis affects Canadians? September is Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Month! Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the joints. RA is caused by an attack on the body started by the immune system.... The body’s immune system attacks the synovium, which lines the joints. In addition to joint damage, you will likely notice: pain swelling inflammation loss of function RA typically affects the wrist and finger joints. In addition to making use of your hands difficult, it can cause deformities, if inflammation continues. It is important to stave off inflammation! The great news is you can do so with proper turmeric supplementation. In a double-blind, randomized controlled trial, RA patients who received Dr. D’s Ultra BioTurmeric for 90 days experienced significant decreases in their symptoms towards the end of the study! Early detection and treatment of RA are very important, so please speak to your doctor if you have concerns. Before science and medicine, as we know it today, our ancestors turned to what they had to feel better, which mainly consisted of what they could harvest from herbs and plants. There are countless effective natural remedies used in Ayurvedic Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine that are still used. Fascinating conservative therapies such as Naturopathic Medicine and Homeopathy are prime examples of how ancient natural remedies are incorporated into today’s modern treat...ments. Natural remedies (and the conservative therapies that prescribe them) are becoming more and more popular as people look for ways outside of drugs and surgery to help themselves feel better and live better. Using natural remedies in conjunction with prescription drugs and western therapies have given many people relief of pain and improved health- even if the science isn’t always clear as to why or how. So, just because something is natural doesn’t always mean it’s ineffective or isn’t supported by research. Regardless, it is important to ALWAYS speak to your doctor or pharmacist before trying any home remedy because they can also come with side effects. This is even more important if you take prescription or over-the-counter medications already because some can change how the drugs work. What natural solutions work for you? .

Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for inflammatory conditions for centuries. Research has now confirmed, via over 6000 studies, that the ancient spice is one of nature’s most powerful anti-inflammatories and antioxidants. Curcuminoids, compounds extracted from the turmeric root, are important nutrients. Curcumin is the most important curcuminoid as it contains the greatest amount of medicinal properties; however, it only comprises about 3% of the en...tire turmeric root! Our research has shown that there are actually over 250 other bioactive nutrients in the turmeric root, in addition to these curcuminoids. Turmeric is notorious for being poorly absorbed, hindering the body’s ability to benefit from turmeric’s full medicinal potential until now. Several strategies have been developed to improve the absorption of curcumin; however, there have been limitations to their potential use in food and supplements. After years of extensive research in conjunction with our partner scientists in India, we have finally developed a technology to unlock turmeric’s full medicinal potential by overcoming the obstacle of poor absorption. This novel technology entails the extraction of curcuminoids PLUS over 250 other highly beneficial nutrients that are preserved and re-packaged inside of a completely natural turmeric supplement. We are proud to be the first and only supplement to provide this complete, 100% turmeric root nutrition to the public. To top it off, Dr. D’s Ultra BioTurmeric does all of this while being free of additives and adjuncts (such as black pepper), gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO. Most of us understand that regular exercise is the key to good health. One great way to can promote health is by supporting our immune system and keeping it healthy. Regular physical activity decreases the mortality and incidence rates of influenza and pneumonia. It is essential to keep everything (including exercise) in moderation. High-intensity training, competition and the associated physiological, metabolic and psychological stress are linked with temporary decreases i...n immune function and, therefore, increased illness risk. Acute exercise (moderate-to-vigorous intensity for less than 60 minutes) may help support through enhanced circulation, allowing the immune system's cells and components to move freely through the body and perform their duties efficiently. Research continually shows that the more moderate exercise one partakes in, the lower their incidence of upper respiratory tract infections. Walking, running, and swimming are great ways to enhance your health if done consistently. If you have not been active regularly, start slowly. Try 5 minutes a day to start. Each week increase it by 5 minutes. You will eventually reach an hour a day before you know it. What activities do you enjoy doing to stay fit?

Your body can only get the energy and nutrients it needs to fight off the flu through the foods you eat. It is always important to constantly eat nutritious, balanced meals, but it is particularly important to do so when you are sick so that you can provide your body with the tools for recovery. Below we have a list of a few foods that can help you fight the flu: Chicken Soup... Turns out your grandma was right! Chicken soup is an excellent food to help combat the flu as it fights off dehydration and provides iron and protein all while relieving a sore throat and nasal congestion. Citrus fruitsand other food containing Vitamin C, such as tomatoes. Vitamin C has long been known as an immune booster, but the body may actually benefit more from consuming it through foods versus just supplementations. Oatmeal Oatmeal is a surprising source of Vitamin E, but it also contains antioxidants and beta-glucan fibre (which is another an immune supporter). Try choosing whole oats for maximum benefits. Garlic Garlic may help prevent and fight common illnesses like the cold and flu due to its antiviral and antimicrobial properties. Ginger It has been shown to help relieve gastric upset by promoting stomach emptying. For this reason, it is commonly known as a nausea aid. Turmeric (We know this one well) Turmeric is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory, but it also has strong antiviral, antimicrobial and even antifungal properties! Of course, it’s always a good idea to add ground turmeric to your soups and other dishes when you are fighting off an infection, but since the body is not good at absorbing turmeric on its own, it’s important to take the right turmeric supplement to help enhance that absorption. Water This is no surprise. Adding these rich foods to your daily diet will help you even before you get sick. Do you have a few additions to this list that works wonders for you? Please share

The use of turmeric dates back nearly 4000 years to the Vedic culture in India, where it was used as a culinary spice and had some religious significance. It probably reached China by 700 AD, East Africa by 800 AD, West Africa by 1200 AD, and Jamaica in the eighteenth century. Interesting Fact : In Indian culture, the importance of turmeric goes far beyond medicine. The Hindu religion sees turmeric as auspicious and sacred. There is a wedding day tradition in which a strin...g, dyed yellow with turmeric paste, is tied around the bride's neck by her groom. This necklace, known as a Mangala sutra, indicates that the woman is married and capable of running a household. The tradition still continues in Hindu communities and has been compared to the Western exchange of wedding rings. In parts of southern India, a piece of the turmeric rhizome is worn as an amulet for protection against evil spirits.
