STRESS the word stress means something different to everyone. While stress can come from a variety of sources, ultimately the more it layers up, the more it has an impact on our body. I love this infographic from @villagenaturopathy ! It touches on some of the symptoms that can present with stress overload over time. ... I love sitting down with my patients and teasing out what "stress" looks like to them and their bodies, and discussing the impact it can be having on their mental and physical health.

With the recent covid changes in Ontario, I just wanted to confirm that both clinics I work at are still open and operating along guidelines. Now more than ever, taking charge of your health is so important. Both personally and with my patients, I see how easy it is for our health and well being to slip during this pandemic. It's not always easy, but having someone on your team who is there to listen makes a huge difference. Even if you're not sure what you would even talk a...bout, book an appointment with me (or another health care provider on your team). If you have an upcoming in person appointment and would like to change it to virtual, simply send me a message or email and I would be more than happy to help you with that. Our main priority is your comfortability and safety. I offer a wide variety of appointment types. Options for appointments: In person acupuncture In person naturopathic medicine appointments - new patients or follow ups Video naturopathic medicine appointments - new patients or follow ups Phone naturopathic medicine appointments - new patients or follow ups

showing up authentically let's get real for a moment. showing up authentically has been a tough one for me since I started working as a naturopath. I always felt imposter syndrome creep in. I thought showing up in the wellness round looked like one thing, and if I didn't resonate with that, then I was just going to fly under the radar. plus I always felt shy on camera. then covid happened and my coworker asked me to show up and post weekly. I was so resistant at first, but I... said yes. I decided that I would talk about what was on my mind, what health topics were relevant to me at the moment and just my general day to day. And guess what, surprise, I started liking it. Once I allowed myself to show up as me, I started to figure out who me really was. Over six months later, I'm confident in how I show up as a naturopath. I understand it may not look like the "norm" and that's ok - I don't want my patient population to be the norm anyways! I want them to be extraordinary! I want to attract people who want to show up, just as I show up. As I get ready to launch a new online community, I am so grateful for the evolution I've made. As much as I never really resonated with the term, I must say, I feel more aligned than ever. Anyone else out there struggle with these feels on the daily???

listen to your body this is a conversation I have with my patients, and myself, often. each day is a new day, and you cannot continue to compare yourself to the person you were yesterday. some times your body needs to heal, and that may include the need to slow down, rest more, eat differently and change the type of movement you do. if you continue to go at the same pace you will burn out. listen to what your body is telling you now and you will benefit later, I promise
