Injury prevention is a term that refers to an effort that is made to prevent and/or reduce the chance of an injury or accident from occurring. --- Case: A soccer player might have deficits in their lower body's range of motion which they dont know about or which do not cause any pain. There may also be deficits in the muscle firing patterns of their legs. These deficits will change how players move and play the game and it automatically puts players at a higher risk of injury.... Does that mean players will get injured? No. Does it mean players will experience pain while playing? No. --- The purpose of preventative care is to help find weaknesses in your movement patterns and address those issues so you can reduce your risk of injuries and perform at a higher level. As a patient it is important to understand that pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong after a negative experience has happened.
