Yesterday I completed a MUCH needed clean and reorganization of my office. This is where all of the correspondence, website work, photo editing, and bookkeeping happens as well as packaging and shipping all of your orders. Things in my office had gotten extremely chaotic lately - heavy volumes of orders going out the door means the shipping station is getting a lot of use and I wasn't always taking the time to put things back where they belong... But now, everything is reor...ganized - and I even moved some things to new places to better optimize my workflow. I haven't been posting as much on the feed lately - not only have I been busy behind the scenes working on orders, admin tasks, and new products, but I also haven't really had much to say (for those who know me IRL and are familiar with how much I normally talk, it's weird, I know ). Instead I have been quietly observing and reflecting, and taking a bit of a step back/break from social media. It has felt nice to escape a bit and be more present in my day-to-day life. 2021 ha...s proved to be just as weird and difficult so far (if not much more so for me than 2020) so I am taking things one day at a time. Time to weigh in! . What's your favourite hardware finish? There are definitely different pros to each - the rose gold, powder coated black, and gasoline rainbow are all lighter weight which makes for less bulk (especially on smaller dogs), while the brass and nickel are more heavy duty. The finishes on the brass and nickel are also the most robust, so they are less likely to show signs of aging or coating wear over time (especially the solid brass components). . I mysel...f am a huge fan of brass - I love how hefty it feels and I think it looks wonderful with any colour of leather or biothane that it's paired with! When people ask me for a recommendation, brass is almost always what I say. But let's be honest, the gasoline rainbow is stunning... . . . . . Today is leather day in the shop! October 15-24 orders are being cut and dyed this morning, which means tomorrow they will be clear coated in the morning and then oiled and assembled in the evening! Leather takes far more patience than biothane, where I can create an item from start to finish in one sitting. . We worked our butts off yesterday getting caught up - 26 orders headed out the door (adding up to well over 50 items). I looked like The Rock carrying that jumbo duf...fel bag walking into the post office. .
