We put on A LOT of mileage doing Dog Fence, whether it’s Mike on the motorcycle in Niagara and Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk, Brad with the trailer in Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin and Huron counties or Cameron crisscrossing SW Ontario doing installs in Halton, Wellington, Flamborough, and Waterloo. Here’s Dog Fence Ontario Fleet Vehicle #1 hitting 400,000 kms and going strong.

COVID-19 Update from Dog Fence Ontario - Friends, the world has changed, and the next two weeks will be a profound test of our humanity. At DFO we are taking the orders and recommendations of our governments seriously and we hope you are too. We are actively practicing social distancing to protect our family and customers and have had no interaction with anyone returning from travel for over two weeks now. Doctors in Toronto advise that the spread of the virus is almost cert...ainly 10x greater than publicly reported. The virus is everywhere and asymptomatic carriers of the virus are putting many vulnerable people at risk. Though much of our onsite work is done in isolation, and we could arguably do an installation without coming into contact with anyone, we are reconsidering doing any installations for the next two weeks at least. Please consider how you can lead by example within your own sphere of influence. For customers and friends without a support system, we are re-evaluating whether Mike can continue to assist with deliveries of essentials, even when all best practices for disinfecting are possible. Wow - we love this review. Thanks Margarida: "I contacted DogFence Ontario because I adopted a rescue dog that is a hound. We live on 7 acres and the dog is very instinctive with her nose and just follows a scent without listening. I knew it was only a matter of time before she got lost. I was warned that some invisible dog fences don't work on hounds, so I was a bit worried at first. When I called to get a quote, they had someone out within three days to do a quote and do ...the work. The installation on our acreage really didn't take more than just over an hour, and everything was set up and ready to go within two hours. They were even able to bury wire underneath the driveway. My little rescue pup was absolutely wild, obviously had no past training so I had to get the extra training sessions they offer. Even though many people warned me that it might not work for a hound, the fence and the extra training worked like a dream, and our dog is probably the happiest little doggie on the planet right now with seven glorious acres to run around in. She has never had a close call or escape attempt. It works wonderfully. I have to say that they were super fast, efficient, and extremely well priced considering my huge lot. I am very, very happy with this company and I would highly recommend them to anyone." See more

The highs and the lows of loving a pet. We talk to pet owners every day, some of whom have lost a pet to an accident but who jump back in because they are #dogpeople. This article is beautifully written and will hit too close to home for many.

My friend MP David Breen Seymour of New Zealand has posted a question that Mike and I have also been debating. Are we too strict in Ontario when it comes to food service and dogs? Our unofficial survey over the summer found that some wineries were very relaxed about dogs on patios while others were not. Since Ontario is now "Open for Business" is this an area where regulations should be relaxed?
