It's been a long time since a bear like this was thrown on the old Honda. Another first time bear hunter and great friend Seth put the hammer down on what would be "world class" in the black bear category OR ANY BEAR CATEGORY. That puts a cap on my bear season. Chasing bruin black bears is no easy task. I've personally guided tons of black bears and hauled out some that will forever be burnt into the ole memory. To harvest a mature bear is arguably one of the hardest animals to obtain and bait can help with those odds but you're kidding yourself if you think itll be a slam dunk. I've been putting out baits for myself for the past 5 years now and had yet to see one worth going after. This bear I was truly lucky enough to take after only 7 hrs of sitting on my first night in a bait I've been working for over a decade. You can tell I've been out of the bear game for awhile after I completely misjudged his size and he grew when the tape hit him. World class category to say the least, but well earned nevertheless. #albertadarkhorn

Northern Alberta is one of the few places you can hunt almost all species of the deer family north America has and still obtain a trophy of each class. We have secured the only moose and mule deer tags in our area to exist. With a steady healthy population of each this is a great opportunity for a excellent mixed bag opportunity.

Spring/summer scouting led to this giant being found early for us and having all of our preseason to prepare, it ended up being a short hunt, in the grand scheme of things. This was one of the few that made the "giant" category for us this past 2019 season, and most definitely one we wont forget. We are nearly booked up for the 2020 season and have openings for 2021. It was at the moment of laying my hands on this buck for the first time that I knew we at Alberta Dark Horn were in for something great. I was talking with a very serious deer hunter yesterday and looks to be newer client and he stopped me and said "it's amazing that the I can tell in the tone of your voice, that you yourself believe in the outift and overall operation and understand that itll never cease to amaze you" He is looking for a real hunt, one where I can throw him... up on a scrape line in the middle of the bush and expect a Alberta giant to stroll by that we have never seen before, I told him that's here! That's what our hunts consist of. Every day we would drive across one hammered down deer trail on our way to the stand and I often questioned if we had the right set up. The next morning I decided to throw the lawn chair in and told the client we are going to try the deer trail. #wolfwednesday Found this wolf hanging out half a mile from the local Tim Hortons, the hunter claims on days with no wind while on stand he could hear the people in town ordering their coffee, dont know about that but I will say we were really close nevertheless. I am accepting bookings for these baited winter wolf hunts for this coming season and if you would like we include a licence on every deer hunt booked in our operating area.
