Local resource worth looking into!
What a helpful course! As the numbers on caesareans rise and post natal care falls short, any extra information on healing and caring for your body is helpful!
I still have some availability for private classes! Why chose a private pre-natal class? * Flexibility of scheduling for you and your partner... * Focus on what YOU are most interested in learning about * Extra time to answer all your questions * Learn about COVID restrictions and how they may impact your birth wishes * learning all of your options so you are as prepared as can be for labour and birth www.dominiquemcgoey.com @doula.dominique
More support from our amazing midwives!
Trying to work with a COVID puppy in the space is tricky
Wondering what is available to you during pregnancy? How can you connect to your body, mind and partner during a world wide pandemic where connection feels limited? Join us!
Sometimes a look of reassurance is all it takes!
Pandemic or not!
It’s getting colder and the reasons to leave the house in the dark have become scarce...So why not have a certified doula share a comprehensive prenatal class with you virtually!?!? It’s possible! Have questions? Just send me a note! Be well!!
You can go to a pub, play at the casino, shop at the mall, eat in a restaurant, but you may not be able to have your support team at your birth... Wait what? Your partner can be present for 8 hours, but your doula or second support person can not attend. Once that 8 hours has passed you may be on your own!???? I recognize and understand that we have to keep our hospital staff safe!! Can we not apply the same screening used for visitors to our second support people in the... labour and delivery ward? I have not wanted to be too critical, or negative during what has been a super stressful time, but we have had time (9 months) to put policies in place and in some cases adjust them to better serve our families. I believe it is high time we revisit the care we could be providing to pregnant people in labour! If we don 't, I fear the mental health fall out will flood our already drowning mental health system! I will continue to write letters/emails and talk to all those I think can make a positive change for expecting families in Thunder Bay! I would love to hear your pandemic stories regarding birth and labour!!! (send me a message if that feels safer for you!)
It’s never too late to ask for support! My last clients reached out to me the day before their due date and we were able to create a plan that worked for us all. Labouring with a doula by your side allows you to stay connected to your body and provides guidance for both you and your partner. This was a beautiful experience
Thinking of all the new families/parents/partners/pregnant people out there who are navigating their experiences during a pandemic. Please remember your local Doulas are a valuable resource
I had the pleasure of catching up with a very special client/friend the other day (you know who you are). We walked, we talked and we shared. Getting together isn’t as easy as it once was, but we can still connect from a distance. Reach out and take care of each other, it doesn’t have to be complicated.
This looks awesome!
Taking some time in my happy place...outside. Living a masked life really makes you appreciate the fresh air! I feel new again and ready for the adventure ahead!
When people learn that I am a doula I hear this statement a lot oh, you must love babies!? And, while I do love babies my role as a Doula has always been about families! Mothers, fathers, partners having the opportunity to make informed choices, receive support and guidance, learn hands on methods for relief and positive birth where ever you choose to have it...that is my passion!
Seeing these positive facts make my day!! We have come a long way since this research was done!
I do...really....LOVE the work I am doing! If you or someone you know needs positive, encouraging, reassuring and informative support in pregnancy and birth, I am booking up quickly! Winter 2020/2021 will be eventful!
I just wanted to shout out to the dads...all the dads, but this dad is especially worth mentioning! Smiling, even after being pooped on, thrown up on and maybe even peed on. He was such a great support for his partner and I was lucky enough to be a part of their story Happy Father’s Day Richard!!! Richard Renting Kendal Donahue
I know I’ve been quiet on FB, but just know I am thinking of you and am here if you need me!!! #doulaloveI know I’ve been quiet on FB, but just know I am thinking of you and am here if you need me!!! #doulalove
Just because we are keeping our distance doesn’t mean we don’t need support. You can still have your birth wishes met! Virtual consults are free!!
I had so much fun chatting with these two lovely humans about doula life, space and of course bugs!
A great resource!!!
I have had the most incredible experiences with the nurses in our local hospital! The nurses of labour and delivery have welcomed me warmly and have taught me so much! Thank you for being such a solid, kind and dedicated group of people!!
Cheers to you mamas! May you be treated like the gems you truly are!Cheers to you mamas! May you be treated like the gems you truly are!
