Know a little bit more about the owners of Chilangos! My name is Abraham Ramos, I came to Canada 10 years ago when I finished my university degree on Internatio...nal affairs, my intention was to be here for six months to improve my English and to go back to Mexico and work at immigration/customs at Mexico City’s airport but during those six months being here learning English I really feel I should look for an opportunity and remain in Canada, A local business give me the opportunity to work for them and at the same time sponsor me to remain in Canada. Now I’m a Canadian citizen, really enjoy traveling and love being part of this brother and sister dream which is Chilangos because we are representing our delicious gastronomy with all the quinte residents but as well with all the tourists that visit this region on the summer time. How Chilangos started? On 2015 after being part of the waterfront festival for 4 years people was asking where was our restaurant because they will love to enjoy all year round our food, from those comments something spark and my sister and I start a business plan and look for a location and one year later we open Chilangos in the Downtown District. What is your favorite dish on the Chilangos menu? And why? I love the Gringa! Is a quesadilla stuffed with marinated pork with melted cheese, guacamole and pineapple salsa, this dish brings back memories from my years in university, back then I will go to the taco stand outside my faculty and enjoy this quesadilla with my friends. What’s the most challenging part of being a restaurant owner? Maybe is not a challenge but I consider I need to keep up to date all the time in everything that involves the restaurant industry to offer our customers always great food, convenient options and a friendly service. What is the task that you love to do at the restaurant? Love serving tables, because I can have the feedback from our customers and if I know something we can improve, we will implement it right away. What do you see for Chilangos in the near future? I would love to open a second location nearby, maybe a food truck we are exploring the avenues. What would you say to the people that have not tried your food yet? There will be always something in our menu for you to try, no matter if you don’t like spicy food, we have very mild food, we can accommodate vegetarian, vegan dietary choices and 90% of our menu is gluten free. You have the opportunity to try Mexico’s city’s food right in downtown Belleville.

When you submit two offers in a day and they’re both... accepted I’ve had a lot of people comment that I must be thriving in this wild market but to be completely honest it has not really been a fun time this year and they’re usually shocked when I say that. I’m pretty sure I’ve written more offers this year in two months than I did all year last year. It’s exhausting, full of disappointment and being the empath I am, it’s been really upsetting having to tell buyers multi...ple times that they’re not getting a home they want although we did our absolute best. Fun? That’s not fun. But it is what it is and we all have to be patient and go through it together. Listings being successful is absolutely amazing and is totally exhilarating when representing sellers, however we also have a stressful duty of keeping them in line, trying to figure out how to price things, and not to mention; trying to stay organized and safe during a pandemic. But today? Today I am heels over head (ha ha) because two of my incredible buyers were successful in multiple offers. I literally cried tears of joy when I heard (empath remember) because I take my buyers’ experience so seriously and always give every offer presentation 100% even though it’s via email these days.
