Stone Sculpting Workshop on January 21-22 with internationally established carver Don Watson: Rock`N Art Gibsons will host a stone sculpting workshop for adult beginners & intermediates on the weekend of January 21-22 from 10 am - 3 pm. Participants will learn how to sketch and carve their own piece made of soft stone to display at home or present as a personal gift. Instructor Don Watson has been commissioned for various public art projects across North America, created corp...orate gifts for clients in Asia, many private pieces for European collectors and multiple unique awards and trophies for celebrities such as the Nashville Predators or Oscar winning producer Jake Eberts, producer of Dances with Wolves, Name of the Rose or his Disney Nature release Oceans. Don enjoys creating art for community projects i.e. the multi million dollar charity Calgary Cows or an animated giant snail for the Sunshine Coast Regional District, a functional piece of fiberglass art that is thoroughly enjoyed by children in the educational maze at Shirley Macey Park in Gibsons. Don absolutely loves to share his passion with sculpting students by using his calm teaching method which results in many participants returning for his workshops.
