We are nearing the one-year anniversary of when #COVID19 was declared a pandemic and many of us went into lock-down. It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we were able to hug friends and family freely, laugh together mourn together. Just be together. I know you’re exhausted and depleted, but Edmontonians have rallied together and provided each other with injections of hope. We’ve come a long way and I’m impressed by our #Edmonton business community and organizations w...ho’ve pivoted to serve Edmontonians. I’m moved by the pictures and videos of seniors getting the vaccine with family and friends cheering, thank you for sharing your stories! As the province distributes the vaccine more broadly, we will see easing of restrictions and I look forward to seeing more vaccine celebrations. The City of Edmonton stands ready to help with the vaccine rollout in anyway we can and that hasn’t changed, we will continue to reach out to the province and let that be known. The City will be opening libraries Edmonton Public Library and slowly reopen recreation centres and I want to stress that as we open up City services and amenities, we’ll be doing so with the safety of Edmontonians top of mind. https://myemail.constantcontact.com/PSA---City-recreation-f #yeg #yegcc

We're one step closer to our goal of ending homelessness! Yesterday #Edmonton City Council approved a 60-unit supportive housing development. This is the 5th supportive housing site identified by the City of Edmonton once completed, these 5 sites will provide 210 units of housing. #yeg #yegcc Homeward Trust Edmonton... https://www.cbc.ca//westmount-city-council-permanent-suppo

My reaction to the #ABBudget2021. For a budget focused on health, recovery and finding savings, I am confounded and disappointed that the Province is not prepared to work with #Edmonton on supportive housing and has cut critical infrastructure funding to our city. #ableg #abbudget #yeg

This budget, the first one the province is unveiling since this pandemic hit #Alberta, will set the direction for our post #COVID19 recovery and the @CityofEdmonton has a lot of skin in the game. Read about our priorities here:

I visited Tipinawâw at the Edmonton Convention Centre and saw first-hand the great work happening to support and house folks experiencing homelessness. This accommodation centre saved lives and we need YourAlberta (Government of Alberta) to step up and commit funding for supportive housing units #Edmonton is building. On Edmonton's Food Bank's 40th anniversary, I proclaim this day Edmonton's Food Bank Day. The financial effects of the #COVID19 pandemic has caused more food insecurity. No Edmontonian should go hungry. I encourage you to support the food bank in its work to alleviate hunger in our city. #yeg #feedyeg #Edmonton

Save money, support our local economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions: The HERA incentive program allows homeowners to do just that by helping them invest in energy efficiency improvements that: Reduce energy bills Help build a low-carbon city... The residential building sector accounts for 19 percent of Edmonton’s community greenhouse gas emissions. The new HERA program is a critical component in creating a more climate-resilient Edmonton and will lay the foundation for the transformation of Edmonton’s housing stock. To reach our climate goals and reduce our GHG emissions to safe levels, we need Government leadership and the collective action of community. The HERA incentive allows Edmontonians to save an estimated $1,500/home and make a difference in Edmonton's fight against climate change. More than 400 homes are expected to take advantage of the incentive program per year. Find out more about the program here: homes.changeforclimate.ca/hera #yeg #yegcc #Edmonton

On behalf of my City Council colleagues and the people of Edmonton, I grieve with the community on the first anniversary of the downing of Flight #PS752. I hope the families and friends of the victims of this crash know that the people of #Edmonton will not forget the lives lost. PS752Justice

We heard today that data trends have shown some decreases in the active number of cases, hospitalization and ICU admissions. Our efforts are working, but we have not flattened the curve yet. I recognize the sacrifices Edmontonians are making to keep each other and our community safe. I know it has not been easy, not for people and not for businesses who are having to deal with continued uncertainty. The numbers are still high and we must continue to take this virus seriously.... We have lost too many Edmontonians, hundreds in the Edmonton zone in the last month, and I know we don't want to lose any more. I am looking forward to hearing further details from YourAlberta (Government of Alberta) on the vaccine rollout. To be clear, the City has no control over vaccine distribution. However, should we be called upon, we will mobilize any civic resources and infrastructure needed to support. #yeg #yegcc #Edmonton #COVID19AB https://conta.cc/3otuwCk
