Bertha Benz, Carl Benz's wife was the first person to drive a vehicle (Benz Patent-Motorwagens) long distance. She drove 106km to a neighboring town in Germany. The round trip took two days. She has to fix problems as they arose. She invented break lining and suggested another gear to climb hills.
