Here is a short video of a A/C coil that is plugged with dust. it is located on a mezzanine space on the inside of a building. This coil was cleaned only one year ago. if not cleaned it would start to restrict airflow and cause cooling problems and HVAC breakdowns.

Sometimes commercial ductwork is so dirty that we can’t see our 8 inch vacuum hose even though it’s only 1 foot in front of us. This amount of dust will quickly plug off air conditioning, reheat coils, blower wheels, and makes your indoor air quality terrible. #commercialductcleaning

We are Commercial Duct Cleaning specialists and improving air quality is an important part of our job, but cleaning important HVAC components is just as important. Check out this coil that we found in a school that was experiencing heating problems, it was completely plugged off and not allowing much air to pass through it. If left unattended it could have lead to serious mechanical problems that would have cost the school thousands in repairs. It is starting to get colder outside and we're starting to prepare our homes for the winter, having your furnace system serviced by a professional is a great idea to make sure everything is in good shape before the heating season really starts. You're probably wondering if you need to get your furnace system cleaned, and how often it needs to be done. Well I can't answer for you if your furnace system needs to be cleaned right now the best way to check is to pull a cold air r...eturn off and using a flashlight see if there's a build up of dust. As far as how often it should be cleaned it really depends on how good of a filter you are using and how often you're changing it. Best practice is to change your furnace filter every month if you have air conditioning and are running your furnace system your round and at the most every two months. Furnace filters have a wide margin of efficiency is actually called the Merv rating, The higher the Merv rating the better the filter. Merv stands for minimum efficiency rating value, most household filters will range between Merv 8 in Merv 12. The better the furnace filter the less often you require furnace and duct cleaning services. At a minimum you should have the furnace system cleaned out every five years and serviced every year. This does not include your dryer vent, the dryer vent should be cleaned out every year as it can become a major fire hazard. If you think it's time to have your furnace and ducts cleaned please give us a call at 780-455-1133 for a free estimate. Www.furnaceman.ab.ca 166901 113th Ave., Edmonton, Alberta T5M 2X3

Today we looked at an interesting job for a company in food processing that specializes in making lasagna's. Of course one of their main ingredients is flour, and they realize the dangers in storing flour indoors. Flour along with many other products when released into the air in high concentrations can form a cloud that can be explosive. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness is not only a food safety concern in the situations it is also a building and staff safety concerns.... https://youtu.be/4hS6IGO2tdA
