BREAKING!! Intimidated and fired for asserting his rights and speaking to the media, migrant farmworker Gabriel Flores refused to back down. With the help of ot...her migrant workers, he took his multi-millionaire bosses at Scotlynn Farms to the labour board and won $24,000! But his case is just the tip of the iceberg. The immigration system is to blame for giving employers the tools they use to intimidate and punish workers. Join us in calling on Prime Minister Trudeau to Ensure Full & Permanent Immigration Status for All! SIGN THE PETITION: https://migrantrights.ca/status-for-all/
Prairie Asian Organizers (PAO!) is hosting a free screening & discussion of the documentary American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs, who was an Asian American activist, philosopher, writer who was active in the civil rights movement, working alongside and supporting Black civil rights activists and organizing Asian American civil rights groups. After the screening, we’ll have a conversation, hosted by Thiané Diop, Ekene Maduka, and Phoenix Nakagawa. This even...t is free and open to all BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color)-identified people who are interested in learning and thinking more about inter-racial solidarity. If you are not BIPOC or are unable to attend the screening live, you can still register to get a link to watch the film on your own between November 7-19.
