Over the past 6+ months I've been putting in the work preparing for a major pivot in what I teach and how I teach it. I'm going all-in inside of YouTube!... There are many reasons for this but the number one reason above anything else is because IT SCARES THE CRAP OUT OF ME! Litterally - I spent 20 minutes stairing at the camera before I eventually got to this post's video recorded. I've learned over the years that the best things in the world come from doing hard shit. Soooooo, here we go! So what will I be talking about? I've broken this into 3 main areas of focus: 1. Property Management (obviously) 2. Technology (yup, I'm a tech geek) 3. Productivity (I do a lot) My ask in this post is the following: Ideas for what you would like to learn more about when it comes to the world of a Doorpreneur. "The Nice Guy Syndrome" This is what I call business owners that have a constant need to be the hero. They get high off of solving everyone's problems all the while they never get what THEY wanted to do... They think that their businesses could NOT run without them... They cry that they can never get anything done yet THEY are the ones that are creating the environments they are stuck in! I was there as well! I was actually stuck there for many years I had put myself on a pedestal thinking that the business would tank if I was not around Funny how this attitude is exactly what blocked us from getting to the next stage we needed to go in Holding everyone's hand No letting others figure things out on their own Creating dependant staff, owners, and tenants If you want to GROW and prosper in business, you MUST be able to let go of certain things. If you want to get out of the day to day operations of your business, you MUST be willing to let others do what you're paying them to do! I'm not saying to abandon people - I'm saying to train people and then get out of their way I love the fact that when I now get involved with details in the office, I'm more in the way than I am helping Let that one sink in! 3 Key Positions that EVERY PM owner needs in there company: 1. Office Manager 2. Financial Controller 3. Maintenance Supervisor... As you grow your business, these are the roles that you want to have filled sooner than later. Without these 3 key people, you're ALWAYS going to get pulled back in the day to day and NEVER feel like you're making any progress. Agree or disagree? Either way, why?
