I just want to express how proud I am of the Georgian College Applied Research team. They have come so far and are certainly deserving of this NSERC grant which will help them advance their Competitive Smart Manufacturing Program, delivering value to fifty companies in Central Ontario.

The Advanced Manufacturing Centre at University of Waterloo is an amazing place. Cutting edge research into robots, wireless, 3D printing and the future of automated-smart manufacturing is happening daily. Thank you to the hosts, researchers and tour guides.

Georgian College hosts the Manufacturing Innovation Summit followed by Research, Innovation, Scholarship and Entrepreneurship Day in the new Peter B. Moore Advanced Technology Centre. It was an impressive collection of projects, experts, companies, students, and thought leaders. Artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 are changing how products and processes happen in the manufacturing industry and all connected disciplines. Georgian is moving fast to build capacity to train students in advanced Industry 4.0 skills and connect them to the business world so they can put their skills to work on real world problems. It was a pleasure to be there and be part of the buzz.
