Two Spiny Softshell Turtles, Two Snapping Turtles and one Midland Painted Turtle with fish hooks in the past 10 weeks at my research sites. These are only the ones that we’ve observed, how many have hooks that we don’t know about. Yes, this is a problem.

Nesting Season
Please Brake for Turtles Turtles have started leaving the Millpond and Thames River to nest - please give them space as they cross roads.

In the light of Covid-19 and to help achieve SOCIAL DISTANCING we recommend walking the Millpond EcoTrail in a CLOCKWISE DIRECTION ONLY... ( signage will be put in place asap but pass the word, please!) We would prefer not to close the trail as has been suggested by some.
