Fiona is preparing to have her kittens in an adorable TP her foster mom got her. Fiona is going to have her babies any day now.
Today, Toby aka recycling bin kitty, went to a new, experienced foster home where we hope he will thrive. Toby is what we call a defensive feral kitty. He doesn’t like when you get too close and he’s not afraid to say so using his actions. He was neutered this week which we hope will help and we discovered his love for shrimp flavoured treats. He is estimated to be around 1 year old which means he is way past his socialization window but young enough that we have hope he will come around. Fingers crossed this little guy learns to trust.
Though we specialize In rescuing kittens, they all have mamas and papas that need our help as well. When we rescue feral kittens, we do our best to spay/neuter the parents and return them to their colony or find a barn program that is able to take them. We have several colony caretakers watching over those parents and we bring any food we can’t use, to the caretakers in order to provide for them. When the parents are friendly, we place them in foster care to be adopted out, usually as a pair with one of the kittens. Pictured here is Alice, mama of Olly and Neville. When we agreed to take in the kittens, we wanted to make sure that mama got the care she needed too. She is in foster care with her boys and when the time comes, will be adopted out as a pair with one of them.
Welcoming this sweet calico girl to Dorset Rescue Kittens. She is from the same colony as the spicy kittens, fish, chips & piper. We actually caught her the last time we were out at the colony site but she escaped the crate. I brought her home for a quick look over and parasite treatment. She is now in foster care with my cousin. She still need lots of socialization and vetting, and is not available for adoption at this time. Welcome to DRK little one, we love you already.
Good Saturday morning from Cholua and Tabasco. These cuties were spayed/neutered last week and have finally forgiven their foster parents for taking them to the vet
