The Prototype has landed! We're stoked to reveal that our next guest roaster is the experimental and progressive @prototype.coffee ! Prototype roasts in super small batches on their 3 Aillio Bullet R1 roasters in their Vancouver cafe roastery, enabling them to offer a huge range of high-end thoughtfully sourced coffees, many of which can now be found on our retail shelves! We are particularly excited to say we have the first ever Cup of Excellence winning bean from Ethiopia, ...a Keramo Natural from Niguse Gemeda of the Sidama region. With tasting notes of strawberry, grape and gummy candy, and a 90+ score on the cupping table, it's a privilege to have this award-winning bean and we don't expect it to be around for long! We also have their Guduba espresso on the bar right now! Expect this washed Ethiopian coffee to be bright and fruit-forward, with tasting notes of lime, pineapple and ginger. You can request it any time you order and espresso based drink! Panama Gesha alert! We've also got a very limited number of bags of a Natural Gesha grown on the slopes of the Baru volcano in Boquete, Panama. One for the aficionados not to miss out on! Our new barista, Lemmie, has been looking forward to getting his hands on some @prototype.coffee ever since he learned he would be moving to Canada from the UK. If you have any questions about these coffees, come in and rack his brains. He will be more than happy to help find the right coffee for you!

One of our staff, Shu, was telling us that in Japanese tradition they eat soba noodles for New Year’s Eve. The length of the noodle represents a long life, and the thinness of the noodle represents being humble. Today is the perfect day to try our new soba noodle dish, Noodz.
