Today, our partners at Oceana Canada released the latest Fishery Audit which features a sobering look at the state of Canadas fisheries. The situation is not great, but the good news is that smart policy, including a strategy to rebuild specific species, can make a difference. If we act now, rebuilding is possible. Dive in to the full report, featuring content by our amazing team, here:
This past summer we travelled from coast to coast capturing the stories of Canadas Best New Restaurants for En Route Magazine. If you like food, youll want to check these stories out. Featuring footage from the top three; ARVI restaurant, Donnas and CMO? Taperia. www.vimeo.com/dotdotdash
How can you not root for Bianca this afternoon. So much grit, so much confidence. Such a spirited and humble young lady. She stars in one of our recent campaigns, along with an exiting new generation of Canadian tennis talent taking the world by storm. Massive congratulations to Bianca Vanessa Andreescu on her monumental W yesterday at The Rogers Cup and her incredible and entirely memorable sportsmanship. Heres a spot we worked on with her a few years back...even then it was clear she had the purest of talents (and hearts). Proud!
Our newest work for Tennis Canada directed by Jason Van Bruggen, written by Blaine Pearson, shot by Kiel Milligan, Stuart Cameron, Chris Harris and the teams from Married to Giants, Apollo Studios Toronto, Nice Shoes and Wingman VFX.
This morning we shared the Spring Edition of The Compass, our quarterly enewsletter where Dot Dot Dash points you towards the good stuff. Check it out:
Last night our work for Gymnastics Canada Gymnastique won an AICP award for Best Editorial Montage. Proud of this team and this work, so it feels nice to have it recognized. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eHE_CG9
Thanks to everyone who came out to the screening of Derrick Pottle: Keeper of the Flame at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) last night. It was an honour to share the stage with David Suzuki and so nice to have a big, beautiful and local audience.
For the last five decades, Gymnastics Canada (GymCan) has been supporting the mastery of movement in Canada and for the last year weve been working with them to re-articulate their brand identity. The culmination of that work is a short film that were really proud of. You can check it out below. DOT DOT DASHs short about Inuit hunter Derrick Pottle recently debuted at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity Mountain Film Festival, was welcomed into the Planet In Focus Film Festival and shown by National Geographic in their short film showcase. Directed by Jason Van Bruggen, we loved helping to share the story of climate changes first person impact through the eyes of our friend Derrick. Hopefully it offers our audiences a fresh perspective on THE issue of our time. We look forward to sharing this with the world as soon as the upcoming Canadian and US festival run is over. Thanks to Adventure Canada, Married to Giants and Wingman VFX for their support on this project.
Floods in Toronto. Wildfires in BC. A melting Arctic. Welcome to our new climate reality. We have the power to change the course we are on, but not for long. Here is a piece we did with Dr. Konrad Steffen, NASA, and the Swiss Polar Institute about how these phenomena are all linked to glacial melt in Greenland.
Last nights view from a project we are working on with @ymcagta at Camp Pine Crest. Not bad at all. https://ift.tt/2LfHMu6
A nice bit of coverage from Adnews for our latest work for Tennis Canada. If youve not yet seen it, check it out here:

Another winner in the @appliedartsmag Photography Awards, we are pleased to share a short version of the story of Derrick Pottle, an Inuit elder, hunter and carver from Nunatsiavut. Derrick speaks of community, broader Inuit identity and the profound changes that have affected his people in recent decades. A longer version of Derricks story is slated for theatrical release in late 2018. See link in profile https://ift.tt/2Itmt7Q

Well, that is kind of neat:
Our story about Konrad Steffen and melting Greenland for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration is featured today on Outside Magazine. If you havent seen it yet, we urge you to watch and then take one small action:
One last shot of @kielm doing his thing at the Swiss Camp in Greenland. Since 1990 weve had more than two degrees of warming and the entire ocean (around the world) is moving up by 1mm because of the melt in Greenland. Climate change means we must change and if you dont believe, watch the video (link in bio). : @jasonvanbruggen http://ift.tt/2ACnaTL
Inside the Swiss Camp Polar Research Station in Greenland with Konrad Steffen conducting studies on the melting ice sheet. Check out the film we made about his work. Link in bio. : @jasonvanbruggen http://ift.tt/2jfMpIh
Climate change is real; in 2000 this research station on the Greenlandic icesheet was level with the surface of the ice. Earlier this year, we spent some time at the Swiss Polar Institutes research station in Greenland and we made a film about the research being done by Konrad Steffen and his team. We think you should watch it. Link to film in bio. by @jasonvanbruggen http://ift.tt/2hmUYQQ
Check out our recent work for NASA and WSL about what the accelerated melting of the Greenlandic ice sheet means for humanity. If you havent seen the rate at which the ice is melting, we think youll be stunned. Full credits appear in the link.
Special visitor at the studio this morning. http://ift.tt/2hjFGsg
In July, through our partners at the Ontario Medical Association, we spent two days with Thorald Finlay (aka DJ Thor). On Tuesday, Thor passed away with the support of Dr. Darren Cargill and the incredible palliative care team at Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic and The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. This is his story.
Our work takes heart so was nice to get a little love from LBBOnline - The Little Black Book for our founder and for DOT DOT DASH. Check out the article here:
A little pep talk before the shooting began this morning at @thebishopstrachanschool. Thanks to all the girls who participated. This one is extra special for us. http://ift.tt/2uKFuve
