Happy Father's Day to all my past client families, and to all dads out there who are making a difference in their children's lives. Dads and Doulas make a great team. We are also holding those close to us that find this day extra hard, including dads with kids who've passed, fathers who are no longer with us and many other difficult situations.

Today was International Bereaved Mother's Day. We hold all bereaved mothers in our hearts for the terrible loss they have endured.

Today marks the beginning of World Doula Week. As these images show, Doulas are for every type of birth. We offer continuous emotional, educational and physical support through pregnancy and labour.

The last few weeks can seem to last forever during pregnancy. The bags are ready, the tiny clothes are folded, and you are feeling ready! It can be a time full of mixed emotions. Excitement, anxiety, love, and often a feeling of change. Remember to be gentle with yourself during this time, and do a few extra things for you. Paint your nails, take all the naps and try to ignore those inevitable "is baby here yet!!?" questions!
