!! CALLING ALL ARTISTS !! Dove Centre is a not-for-profit organization that has existed in the Lakeland since 1973. For 47 years now, we have supported adult individuals with developmental disabilities. We support independence for a meaningful and inclusive quality of life and provide the supports necessary for people to reach their full potential. Dove Centre believes in natural connections between persons supported and the community. ... In these times we have seen a greater sense of community, and as an organization who as all about community, we do not want to see this stop. As a great majority of people are now home, in order to practice social distancing, we are hoping to find artists who are ready to take on a challenge and let their creative minds be FREE! Below you will find a photo of a wall located at our Bonnyville Bargain Boutique location and another photo that depicts the dimensions of this wall. This wall is YOUR canvas! Artists, here is your task: The entire white space of the wall is become a mural. The mural is to depict community, togetherness, inclusion, equality and all the wonderful things that are connected to these depictions. We are open to any and all concepts LET THOSE CREATIVE JUICES FLOW!! Artists will retain the rights to their artwork and will allow Dove Centre to use the artwork for the mural and promotion at no cost. Once it is safe to gather and weather permitting, we will assemble a group of artist participants and local artists willing to paint the mural on the wall as a community project. Good afternoon everyone!! We have finally reached November and you know what that means! Time for a new monthly charity! As the month of November represents Remembrance, we have decided that the charity of the month is the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 183 - Bonnyville, Alberta.

First draw will take place Monday November 2 Live on Facebook at 4 pm. And every day for the Month of November at 4 pm.

This summer we were fortunate enough to fix up the flower beds at the front of our building with the help from local business and organizations. We would like to give a huge shout out to Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority for volunteering their time to come layout the landscaping fabric and to Rockslide Gravel Ltd for their generous donation of river rock to fill the garden beds. Community support plays an integral role in Dove Centre’s continuing success.

As you may or may not recall, we put it out to you Lakeland to comment a nonprofit/charity for October's Charity of the Month. ... Based on all the comments provided the chosen with the most comments its the Capella Centre, which is a women's shelter located in St. Paul, AB. Thank you to everyone for voting! WE will be providing a funding update for how you have helped your community in the next two weeks.
